@@Ryanide_ He had already gone through both JD, and if I can see properly, 2 monster reincarnation (bottom of the GY and middle of the GY while you look through after avarice) and you put him on one card if you tribute the second JD for a raiza, spin back your own Raiza, and you're at 1800, so you're losing to monster reincarnation either way if you tribute set or activate Raiza (he milled the third Monster Reincarnation off of Solar Recharge so he does play 3 of them), it was 100 percent the right play unless he plays multiple Arkus and draws it, and chooses to swing into tribute set because you lose to just Monster Reincarnation either way.

Gearframe saves fortress from black rose dragon, why wouldn't it work against JD?

It doesn’t save fortress from either black rose or jd the way it was explained to me is because gearframe says destroy this card instead since they’re being destroyed at the same time it can’t protect fortress
