Hey please help! I am using Premiere, all updated, etc. Just got 600GB of CRM footage for a music video. Running a solid iMac 2015, it's dropping a lot of frames, impossible to edit on smoothly. It won't let me create proxies because it has 4 audio tracks and won't match a preset. I tried creating a preset. Then I noticed they gave me proxies, but I can't match them because the audio doesn't match. I went and bought an SSD to see if I could just edit the raw. It's still the same amount of dropped frames. I can't edit and I'm on strict deadline. Any suggestions?

Hey! Sounds stressful, hopefully I can help! I've not had any issues generating ProRes proxies on a Mac straight from the CRM files with all four channels of audio. Right click the clip in the bin > Proxy > Create proxies. In the config, I'm then selecting QuickTime as the format, and the preset itself is 1024 x 540 Apple ProRes 422 (Proxy), which is the same aspect ratio as the 4k DCI footage. James

My SSD started working faster somehow, and now I seem fine editing the raw. I think I tried that Proxy and it didn't work. We'll see how this goes! Thanks for responding to me.

May i ask what is your PC as specs - i am also a windows user and i am having Xeon 124v2 3.5Gz, 16ram DDR3 and GTX 260 (ooold!). And no SSD scartch disk for work :(. I am aiming to buy the C200 and that is why). Also, i would very much appreciate if you could youshare some lessons learned after working with the camera? What accessories should i get first and what helped you most?

Thanks, good video. Call me fussy, but I can't deal with stuttering (drop frames) playback. Mainly because of the need to evaluate while reviewing, often with director or client. Sure, a render always helps, but takes up extra time. Information at hand still points to transcoding. AT least to Proxy if not, ProRes HQ and sticking with that format throughout edit.

True, we also tend to find ourselves occasionally spitting out a render up front to ProRes 422 before the edit.
