My mom is a dictator when it comes to Christmas colour decorations. The living room and tree are Red, Green and Good and the kitchen is White and Silver. No untraditional colours! I think the only exception are the bathrooms

As a grownup I found out my mother's preferred poinsettia color was jot red, which we had always had as I grew up, but pink! It is my favorite too! And thus I enjoy pink and gold in my home decor for Christmas. I like natural elements too such as live or fake greens and pine cones. When we had blue living room carpet, I chose wrapping papers and Christmas cards featuring blue!

My grand-children and all my cat loving friends would love this card. It’s darling. I am a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas. I have ornaments that I collected when traveling. I love putting them on the tree and remembering where they came from brings me so much joy. However, I like going to stores or malls and looking at all the pinks and blues. I have way to much Christmas decor to start over.

This card is adorable. I love Newton's Nook because of the kitties. For holiday decorating, I want traditional colors. Red, green, etc. with some gold and silver thrown in for sparkle. Last year we didn't decorate because we were having some work done on the house so this year I'm going to go all out and put all the decorations up the weekend after Thanksgiving.

Love this card! I am a big cat person too. As far as decorating, I like to mix it up. Sometimes I am more traditional with red and green. I really love blue and silver though. I have used those colors for the last couple years, but this year I really wanted to throw it way back to my childhood. My grandparents had teals and pinks all over there home, in the bathroom (sink, tub, toilet) even on their Christmas tree 🎄. So I am throwing in some pinks to my teals and silver.

Our front room and dining room are painted sage with dark brown trim, and we have red accents, so I’ve kinda been limited to more traditional Christmas colors. My husband adores holidays (on 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas we have lots of holiday traditions that we adhere to) so he doesn’t mind one bit. He loves anything nostalgic as well, so we have old ornaments that he made as a kid on the tree. Lots of those on the bottom half of the tree since they’re non-breakable and cat friendly! 😂

I'm a very traditional decorating. I love a very large tree with white lights lots of German ornaments that my special needs daughter loves Christmas as much as me. She is 21 but loves colorful pretty decorative decor. I almost lost her this year do to a perforated bowel. 44 days in ICU 51 days total in the hospital. My house is usually pretty decorated but going to be extra special I also have 94 year old mom that lives with me so it will be over the top! I enjoy your tip and tricks and great inspiration from you. Thank you

I’m a traditional Christmas colors person--red, green, gold, & white. But not so much my family. Everyone’s, save me, favorite color is blue. So they want blues. Plus my mother-in-law was very much into non traditional themes. Like pink & leopard prints or electric turquoise & black. I inherited a lot of her Christmas decor. I think my sisters-in-law are more on the traditional side too or at least into their own taste because they gave me the turquoise and leopard stuff. This is how I handle taste clashes: Everyone get’s their own tree. I encourage my kids to decorate their bedrooms & bathrooms. I decorate my bedroom and include a tree. I decorate my bathroom too. We all have smaller trees. Our big tree is a group project and we negotiate. We tend to just trade off. One year traditional and the next less so. My husband likes white trees & I like green. We have one of each and again we trade off. The other thing I did was make a special wreath out of my mother-in-law’s Christmas decor for my husband. She passed on in 2010. He likes blue, silver, and white. So I picked out those colors of ornaments and garlands and made a wreath that we hang every year. I really look forward to decorating my bedroom every year and make lots of ornaments for my tree. I am crazy about paper ornaments and make a new set just about every year. My other tradition is to get out the holiday decor--Halloween, Thanksgiving, & Christmas in September and purge. I make donations end of September/early October. Lots of thrift stores won’t take out of season donations. I also like donating my handmade ornaments to nursing homes. I used to volunteer at a nursing home teaching arts & crafts. I’d help residents decorate their rooms for the holidays. I moved a couple years back & then the pandemic happened so I’ve yet to find a new place.

Everything is traditional in my house with one exception, I have a wrought iron tree thing that holds my George Washington's Mount Vernon Christmas ornaments-- a yearly bday gift from my husband. It is set up in the dining room. I decorate with lots of greenery and the color of my choice. Mainly I have been traditional here as well, but this year I am going purple!

Gone to a minimalist decor a few years ago with non breakable soft ornaments for my autistic granddaughter. She does not understand the concept of Christmas but delights in being tackle withe the ornaments.. Tree is very modern with a battery pack for the lights. Neighbors decorate full lights on their house and she sits by our front window each night when the timer goes off and the light up.

I was always traditional. Always! But then my friend from Ireland sends me a silver Christmas decoration every year from Newbridge and I had so many that I decided they needed their own tree. Two years ago I came across tree decorations in the most devine shades of pink, like an ombre effect and I fell in love! So now I have a traditional tree and a non traditional tree :) I love that card by the way, super cute!

Being in Canada, I tend to have lots of red and white, with some clear glass, and some lighter greens, so I guess more of a traditional leaning. Having downsized to an smaller home, I can leave the red and white year round, and pull in the green for the holidays. Plus lots of fresh greenery too!

Love this kitty Christmas card. We have a Balsam Hill Tree and decorate it with Gold and Silver bulbs and ribbon. We live in Florida and have white shiny tiles where the tree sits in front of our sliding glass doors looking out at the pool. The tree lights reflects onto the shiny floor and is just so beautiful. We LOVE our tree. I have been making 60-100 Christmas cards for the past 10-12 years and have always used the traditional colors of red and green but this year I'm using navy blue blending black distress ink to the top of the card for a night sky with a white nativity scene. I'm using gold glitter paper for the Christmas star and white gel pen for the stars.

I used to change up my Decor colors every few years. Now being married we are loving the traditional country wood cottage style . Buffalo plaids, browns, copper, white, red, some green and gold and blue tossed in just for fun. I also have acquired a large village that I start setting up just after remembrance/Veterans Day. Love Christmas time.

This is a delightful card. 8 love how you used the snowflake stencil and blushes of blue and green. I have a similar kitty in stocking and puppy in stocking. I made a dozen for cards going on 3-4 years ago but could not figure how to turn them into cards. I think I’ll use a stencil too…maybe some sparkle embossing powder for the background images. Thank you so much for the inspiration. Btw I am also a cat lover. I lean toward using non-traditional Christmas decorations in the house, specifically pink, gold, cream and burgundy. They look so beautiful together. Outside, I like to use greenery and fruits (real & artificial) with white lights.
