I have started collecting both sets of inks, because I like the pads/inks for different things. I like to stamp with the distress oxide and use them for the chalk look, but whenever I do sky backgrounds, water backgrounds, or even galaxies, I use regular distress. I think I will try some of the distress oxides for the galaxy look. Thank you Kristina, for this excellent tutorial!

Kristina, thanks for doing this comparison. I really like the original Distress ink card from last week but I’m not a fan of the Oxide’s in general. It looks kinda like gouache. I have both and only like Oxide’s for stamping and ink blending. You’re an amazing artist and I love watching you!

I did the technique with stamping and embossing first and used Catherine Pooler re-inkers and it worked well. I wasn't trying to move the colors as much as you did so not sure how that would have compared. I just wanted the colors blending into each other. It was fun and came out very pretty.

They turned out ok but I have never been a huge fan of oxides anyway. I really love the regular distress inks. I like the one on white better than the black.

I’m in Australia too and did their last one. I found it worked ok for me because they release the videos and you do them when you can. The lives worked out not too bad (I think it was 7am in Melbourne).
