When those two were horizontal when you were making them they looked like the terrifying Tornado's a' Comin' skies from our years in Tulsa OK. Definitely scary! After the gold leaves, dramatic and lovely cards....

Good tip on drying the background with a hair dryer if someone wanted to stop the spread of ink. I think that purple and orange might have cancelled each other out, but good timing and that orange looks magnificent behind the embossing! 🥰🥰

Spooktacular cards! I LOVE these backgrounds! Wow! I wouldn't have thought of heat embossing on top of an alcohol ink bg. Beautiful! If you hold the heating tool in the same direction that the alcohol ink is running--diagonal in this case--it will maintain the lines.

Hi there! These weren’t alcohol inks. I used Distress Ink reinkers. You’d get a much different look with alcohol inks.

Alcohol inks would give a different look since it’s a different medium. Would be equally as fun, though! Go for it!

I’m such a dufus with my watercolouring. When doing wet on wet, do I tilt the watercolour paper all around or leave it flat against the table? Thanks for being an astounding teacher.

You can do both. When it’s tilted, the paint will follow gravity. When flat, it will most sit and fan outward. Both are great! It’s just up to you and what you want to do. :)

What kind of board is your paper taped to?

With all the normal watercolors out there, why do you choose the reinkers? Are they deeper/more intense colors? How are the Distress Stains different from reinkers? Too many similar products...I'm confused...LOL!

With regular watercolors from a pan or tube, you have to add water to get the color moving. However, with these concentrated inks, they are already fluid. So you don’t need to dilute them with water, and they retain their saturation and intensity. Liquid watercolors are similar in that way, but not quite as intense. As for Distress Stains? No idea. I have tried them for a long long time.

I love the Distress stains. I haven’t tried watercolor with the reinkers, but just from watching this video I would say I think the stains are not as saturated in color. Although you can for sure watercolor with the stains, along with just spraying them on the paper to create a background, of course.
