Sonic has always looked better with the long quills, personally the main reason I've said for years that's his 06 model is his best one That and the more lengthier look makes it a favorite of mine as well

Shorter quills are reserved for Classic, since he’s younger. Sonic with longer quills feels more natural, and I feel a sense of speed with that design, having your hair blow with the wind.

Personally, I like the jump animation to be similar to SU or SG. But that's a small thing compared to the many improvements of this mod. Not to say the Frontiers model is bad, but it leaves a lot to be desired.

I think the best thing here are that his legs actually run in a circular motion, very similar to the unleashed opening cutscene. Sonic teams stupid for not ever trying to get that into an actual sonic game. Sonic feeling like he’s almost a controllable wheel is what makes him fun

The Frontiers model is the best in game Sonic model, It has a nice shade of blue, actual fur textures, and even has the 3 spike side view like how sonic is portrayed to be in artwork, it also makes the most sense mechanic wise and makes him look more agile and quick without extra spike length to weigh him down or get in his way. So yeah, short spike Sonic actually makes alot more sense than long spiked Sonic if you actually think about it

I love Sonic's model, especially his longer quills and jumping animations, but his Super form for me looks kinda... meh? Like instead of Super Sonic, I keep seeing him as Super Shadow with the longer quills. He look absolutely nothing like the Super Sonic that I'm so used to. Considering how despite fighting for more dev time to finish this game, they were STILL being rushed by SEGA in the end, I would have to say it’s defo the former. Fans are able to “do better” mostly because they have infinitely more time to tweak stuff than a team of roughly 60 developers working and crunching towards a deadline As much as I personally enjoyed it, Frontiers ain’t a perfect game by any means-no game truly is Hell, even I admit I would’ve loved most of the in-game animations in general to have a bit more polish bc they help make the gameplay feel smoother. But rest assured, they definitely were taking their work as serious as a rushed team could’ve

Like the model edit. Absolutely hate the boosting animation. To me personally sonic's hands should be closed when he's boosting. Open when he's just running. Otherwise it just looks stupid. Classic sonic does it good because it actually looks awesome. His arms being forward and then being back when he's at top speed, it generally looks like your actually going fast. 06's running animation looks absolutely stupid in my eyes. it doesn't look nor feel like your going fast whatsoever. To put it simply, hands open when running. Hands closed when boosting. It fits modern sonic better.
