Mikuru Yarika is a Kikuyu hymn which means "When the valleys get deeper".
The song was originally written, composed and produced by the Late Sister Margaret Wanjiku Kamau, and was later on published as a hymn under the Woman's Guild in the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA).
MOTIVATION
Following difficult times that befall us from moment to moment, it is important to be anchored on our faith in God. Knowing that Jesus Christ promised never to leave us nor forsake us, and to be with us until the end of the age.
So when the valleys get deeper and the mountain seem higher, may the Lord help us to put our trust in him.

I came across this song after i had just received a bouncing baby girl but things started going down the day she landed...i was going through the dark valleys since she was not adding weight for a whole 3 and 1/2 months....i cried every night singing this song to her since she couldn't sleep through the nights...i drew strength through this song since even the doctors had no answers.....then on day she rested....i wept bitterly wondering why God didn't listen through the tears n prayerz i made through this song.....and on the day we laid her to rest we sang this song one more time yet i still wished i was holding her as i sang....Thank you Edith for this song...2 years down the line the lord has really worked on me and I'm grateful that He has helped me through the dark shadows.
