Franklin Reid Wait did you say it has crappy speakers and low resolution display? What? The speakers are one of the best on any 13” laptop and the screen, while not 4K, is one of the brightest and most color accurate on the market.

You just said the machine has a bad display, speakers and webcam. While I can agree, the webcam is crappy, but the display and speakers are some of the best on a 13-inch machine. The display is more than adequate at 2560*1600. What were you expecting it to be 4K? That would just destroy the battery of the device, and even if it was 4K you would need to pixel peep to see the difference, and the speakers are loud and clear. But that's not to take away from your excellent video. keep up the good work!

Davinci Resolve is so good! Runs fast on Nvidia and AMD cards, offers a ton of features, and is pay once, get updates! It is better than both Premiere and Final Cut!

Pierce Jordan - Personal Finance Well, I got a 13” for HD videos (I rarely use 4K as I don’t need it so much for my company) and I’m pretty pretty satisfied, Photoshop, Lightroom and FCPX do what they must, but I have to say something, I didn’t want to risk myself and I got the 256 SSD and 16 Gb, I feel the 16” is a higher investment for higher and heavier projects, it’s going to depend if you’re talking about a 3 min clip or a 40 min documentary

I'll edit most of my pictures of an external SSD most likely anyway and in terms of video editing, I'd say most videos will turn out about 10mins or less. So going from what your comment says it seems what I'm thinking about going for should be just fine?

Dylan.. definitely, and it works really well for me, also considering the new Macbook arrived and if you are able to spend a little bit of more money to improve something COMPLETELY worth it: Go for the base intel 10th gen, if you don’t want to, you’ll be really really comfortable w the 8th gen

Well first off welcome to the crazy world of youtube your in for a rollercoaster of a time lol. Hmmm well to be honest you wont see much of a performance dif in the i5 vs the i7 I would go with whatever you can afford at the time. As you grow into your own and develop a workflow you'll def wanna switch it up. so dont invest to much at the begining.

yeah, absolutely! As I mentioned, depending on the application you use, Final Cut Pro will work the best but if you decide to work on Da Vinci Resolve or Premier Pro be sure to use proxy media.

I have this MacBook 8GB 256ssd. I used to be able to edit but the latest 1080p 23.9fps film I try to edit just slows my computer to a standstill. Do you think I have a defective model?

Maybe, or it might be your Operating system, id try to reset that first and try again, also make sure ur hard drive is not full, a full hardrive will slow things down

howdy, well id def suggest the 16" Macbook lineup for all these activities, Premier Pro and CAD greatly benefit from having graphics power, so the AMD radeon pro CPUs in the 16" macbook pro will suit you the best. 5500M or 5600M 8GB models recommended

In final cut it def can handle 1080P, in Premier Pro it its def much smoother when playing back footage, but it also depends on if its H.264/H.265 footage or something like ProRes Raw/BRAW

honestly, if your going to be doing video editing is 100% worth it to spring the extra cash for the extra ram, its not something. you can compensate for later and you'd need a whole new machine. hope this helps!

Hey Sanket, no there wont be a problem, you might see a little bit of sluggishness in your timeline if u add too many effects but overall it should work out just fine.

So yes def recommend that machine, but i'd keep the ram around 16Gb, if you go to 32, you are better off investing that money into the more powerful model

well first off glad you enjoyed the video, well here's how I view that question , the CPU will slow down your editing but ram can stop your editing if there is not enough of it for the application to leverage, you will get crashes and errors, so id say ram. Hope this helps!

Ah, if you are a premier pro kind of guy then you have tons of options on the PC side of things. My recommendation is the Dell XPS line up of laptops and also the MSI GS just make sure you have 16gb or more ram and an i7 CPU

If you are using premier you’ve got a ton of options , my favorite is the last gen zephyrus from Asus or you can wait for the ryzen 4000 units coming later this year. Gonna be super cheap and packed full of power

Hey there Jose, So i think the issue for the higher resolution video editing is on the GPU, seems Premier FCX and Resolve all favor 4-8GB of Video Ram, and the Intel integrated graphics max out at about 1.5GB.

The Macbook 13" should chew through 1080p footage even in adobe premier pro, but depends on the codec, if anything, making proxy's or converting to prores woudl do the trick

at that price tag you've got plenty of options, I amin the same boat myself trying to slowly switch off of FCX. Personally im looking at the new ASUS Zephyrus G14 suppose to be a killer and under $1500 there is also the Razero Blade stealth and 15"
