87 degrees BTDC when the throttle is chopped? Wow. To keep it from backfiring or fuel popping? Really like to see more of the 3D maps!

@Davey T These values in the white cells are simply the stock values that are set in the ECU from factory. Different bikes will also have different ignition timings so the values seen in this video should not be used as any sort of indicator to use on your own bike.

Be nice if a video can be done on tuning ignition timing :)

Yeah, what he said. Tuners secret I hear. Detonation can be deadly though!

Does ignition timing can be tuned only for throttle position? What about air temperature, hondas and suzukis i believe use different ignition maps when air is hot and when cold.

Most bikes will have a set of fuel maps and ignition maps that have a temperature compensation that is controlled behind the scenes. For some popular models we have exposed those maps, but for most models this compensation map is not accessible. If we get multiple request to look for a particular map on a particular bike, then we may pursue it based on the priority in the development schedule.

@@WoolichRacing if ignition maps have some kind of temperature compensation does it mean i just need to find a nice ignition timing in throttle map and in real life traffic lites sitting heat it will be automatically retarded to a safe value?
@WoolichRacing4 жыл бұрын
@@hrsjohnny Most newer bikes will have a temperature compensation map for the ignition, that will retard the timing if the water temp gets too high. Woolich does not expose these 'safety' maps as it then opens up the possibility that a tuner may enter incorrect values in those maps and create a situation that may be harmful to the engine. The settings put into those maps by the manufacturer will be suitable for 99.9% of situations, so we prefer to keep those type of compensation maps hidden. Please note: Each manufacturer has different strategies for compensation maps like temperature ignition compensation, so any information like this is generic in nature. For any further questions or information specific to a particular bike you are tuning with the Woolich product/s, please create a support ticket to speak directly with one of our technicians: www.woolichracing.com/support/open.php

Key words harmful to the engine. DETONATION. Some bikes have knock sensors, most don't.
