Spoilers: I have mixed reactions of Dante being legend. I feel foolish not seeing it earlier when Dante called Julian brother, but I thought the author did that to fool us. Because legend became a better person as Dante and did sacrifice his original goal for her, I was going back and fourth with what am I rooting for. I like the Star-Crossed lovers thing with tella and legend, but at the same time, I am yelling, “Legend you’re supposed to be evil”. What am I supposed to feel? Ugh!

I just finished this book. I went into it same as you, with low expectations. 24 hoursllater im still thinking about possibilities XD. It was great :D 11pm turned into 6am reading this lol

I loved your review! I agree with how awesome Tellas character development was, part of the reason why it took me the first 100 pages to get warmed up with the book, because I was used to Scarlett’s cautionary side. Her character build up made me fall in love with the book more and more as I read. And Jacks was a wonderful dark villain, who reminded me of a character in Shadow and Bone trilogy, who is very similar to jacks and is a pirate. (Currently I can’t recall his name but if you’re looking for a good trilogy to read I suggest Shadow and Bone) Anyway, thank you for the review! Having just finished the book it’s really fun to know others opinions on the read! :)

That’s so true and I’m so interested to see what happens in book three when their perspectives are woven together. And you may either be thinking of Nikolai or potentially the Darkling? The Darkling was the villain in Shadow & Bone but Nikolai was the pirate. That trilogy IS amazing and I’m so excited that Nikolai’s getting his own books!!
