Formerly, we were all very happy when highly educated women climbed to the top of the corporate ladder or occupied offices in politics, as we assumed honesty and sincerity, synonymous with them. Looking back, we were so naïve! Next, corporate consultants are largely hired for their connections rather than their proprietary intelligence - hence, only God knows (and I mean this literally) why the corporates named in all this mess, hired the Buchs at any point of time. With the manner in which probes are conducted, we will most likely never know. And your wish to have a clean bureaucrat in office (mirrored in every honest citizen of India), will always remain a pipe dream in this country, not because we don't have people of such mettle, but because generally those appointing them have a lot of skeletons in their respective cupboards and an honest, upstanding bureaucrat could upset their apple cart! The old adage, 'birds of a feather flock together' is very apt here. Finally, how much money and power will ever satisfy some people? Will they ever live to wholeheartedly enjoy even 5% of all that money and property they amass?

In my opinion, perception matters. SEBI chairperson must be above any reasonable doubt. She should resign, an independent investigation done. As for Miss.
