Editorial With Sujit Nair | Supreme Court Raps Patanjali, Slams Central Government

In a recent segment of ""Editorial,"" Mr. Sujit Nair discusses the Supreme Court of India's recent comments regarding Patanjali Ayurved. The Court criticized Patanjali for its lackadaisical apology affidavit submitted in response to its misleading advertisements promoting ayurvedic products while disparaging modern medicine. Justices Hima Kohli and Ahsanuddin Amanullah expressed displeasure over Patanjali's claim that its media wing was unaware of the Court's order to cease airing such advertisements. This assertion was made in an apology affidavit by Patanjali's Managing Director, Acharya Balkrishna.
"If this is indefensible, then your apology will not work. This is a gross violation of the undertaking given to the top court. You have to ensure that your undertaking which is solemn should have been adhered to. We can say that we do not wish to accept that the media department does not know about what is happening in this court and it is an island. This is more of a lip service! ... You violated the solemn undertaking with impunity. We are not willing to accept this and this is perfunctory! What is the reason to accept your apology?"" Justice Kohli remarked.

Well said Mr. Nair. Religion is a moral compass on how our lives should be conducted and scrutinised. Children must not accept their parents faith without challenge. This is the root cause of India's societal problems lack of holding parents accountable for any actions. Am Indian born and educated but chose to live in the West. Am in my seventies but always challenged my grandmother on Catholicism to the point of exhaustion. My attitudes were so progressive that my nieces would tell me I could not live in India.

Let me explain my experience. After covid I had experienced severe blockages in including cardiac. I had undergone CAD. Even after 7 months my left shoulder was paining. I could not sleep at night. I too had some problems with lungs. I had undergone 10 days of wellness treatment at Pathanjali , Haridwar. For the last 2 years I am healthy and normal at 75. Honey is a seasonal natural product. It varies in taste with seasons, location and size of the bee. We have to be diligent. Those who created such facilites against all odds and challenges are doing something for society. Kindly do not understand write them for bias,, Competition will make the best product survive, There is a rule in this country that prevents advt about 54 medicines. The rule was enacted at Nehru's time. It is used to beat Indigenous medicines and treatise.

big brands sell us impure and low quality stuff, and its praised as the best because some celeb is endorsing it. meanwhile small MSMEs making things like real fruit jam and honey, and it costs 300 and people buying it as premium but if these big brands didn't exist, that same superior quality jar of jam that costs 300 ( I have bought it a few times myself), those same companies could have sold it for lesser. They are only able to sell it for that high price because some people like myself have found out just how useless and horrible some of these products really are. Some have bad things, while others may not have bad things but won't have anything good at all either, and the product is being advertised as a health product, so the whole point is lost.
