Well, the latest 12th generation of intel CPUs gives you perfect power and Quicksync encoding decoding even in 10bit 422 H.265 - at a low cost. So, QuickSync is not opsolete at all? It gives you the best performance for the money. Many customers love EDIUS because you don't need a 1000$ GPU to be able to work fast with latest formats. You can work on a cheap intel based Laptop for less than 1000$ for the whole system. But yes, the EDIUS team is working on a new GPU pipeline with broader GPU support for systems without QuickSync.
