Actually, not with ease at that time. While working with a more experienced vocal coach for the first time for her second performance in this show experts found out that she has not been very careful with her vocal health in the past and doctors urged her not to sing for a while. (And there was a big international competition coming at that time, so it was really hard for her) On top of those she was psychologically stressed because after her success and fame with this first performance her biological abusive mother(!) tried to contact her (which is the worst nightmare for her). I think she has been working with more professional and expert coaches since then and she is caring for her vocal health more because her recent concert performances seem to a little bit below her own standards, yet still amazing compared to other artists. I wish all the best for her.

If you think that there is a thing called "Big three" or four with Diana then you are mistaken, her voice makes the songs not the other way around, hearing and watching her perform IS the experience. I could recommend 50 songs right now and they will all leave you speechless or give you the chills, every single one of them. How about hearing her sing a song full on her low voice like "Human" and then for contrast go hear her latest song called "The day you..." where she hits crazy highs. As for her polyphonic ability here is an explanation. Polyphonic is a Greek word that means many voices/sounds. It does not really mean that a human can produce two voices at the same time. The sound is a wave so it has a main body that is called main fundamental and then it has overtones that together with the fundamental morph the way something sounds like, when you hit certain resonators you can make these overtones stronger this has the polyphonic effect, your voice begin to produce the double sound illusion. All people can do that to some extend, then there are talented individuals that can control their pitch and resonators perfectly so that they can hit the notes they want with this effect, they can sing with their main fundamental voice in a low register for example and make their overtones higher in register so that you can hear two different notes coming from the same mouth. In Diana's case excluding the unique timbre of her fundamental voice if you put her sound in a spectrum analyzer you will not witness two or three or four overtones you will see more than 8 sometimes even 10. So Diana's voice is so powerful that her polyphony goes to the next level, she not only can produce two different notes simultaneously but sometimes even more than that this gives the "goosebumps" effect or what people call haunting voice, like her voice comes from somewhere else and not from her. Diana's polyphony is heard more prominently in her low register so her lows are powerful and polyphonic.

Thank you so much for this amazing explanation. I've been so frustrated watching so called vocal coaches and the like who say it's an effect or she's not really producing those sounds or that she's not polyphonic but just has and interesting timbre and resonance. I've even watched a couple who said she isn't actually getting as low as she sounds but using some tongue trick. It's bunk. Most of the time her mouth is wide open so you can clearly see her tongue placement. And her voice was analyzed which proved her polyphonic nature. So thank you for your detailed explanation. One video of Diana's, in my sight, is a total masterpiece the like of which I don't remember ever seeing before in my long life. It's a must see for anyone that loves singing with unending emotion. The background of the song is essential to know. The title of the song is "Ornery (or "Fastidious" or "Finicky") Horses". The song has nothing to do with horses in reality - the horses are being used as a metaphor for life. The author of song is begging the horses to slow down (he is aware he is approaching death), but, at the same time he is whipping them along (his chaotic lifestyle) - he knows that his lifestyle is taking him to an early death, however, he is unable to change it.....the composer of the song, Vladimir Vysotsky, was a singer-songwriter, poet, and actor as well as an alcoholic & drug addict and died in 1980 at the age of 42. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqabmopvd8iKo7s . Diana Ankudinova was 14 years old on February 10 2018 during this first appearance by her on a talent show for children and young teen’s who spent some significant part of their childhood without parental care called “You Are Super”. This performance was during the first season of the “You Are Super” competition, and she sang a cover, of Dernière Danse, originally sung by Adila Sedraïa, better known as Indila, and Diana does her cover in French. Diana’s voice for a 14 year old is truly unique, an instrument with a timbre, and colors that are hard to describe. There are several versions of Diana performance of Dernière Danse, some, in my opinion, better than others. This performance of Dernière Danse was an abbreviated version trimmed to fit into the time constraints of the “You Are Super” competition, which Diana won. In the previous year, 2017, at age 13, her vocal range was measured from a low of D3 (a solid Alto), to a high of A5, (again a solid Alto), which is still really low for a 13 year old girl, but I can find no performance, used for this particular vocal range measurement. On November 30, 2018, just 9 months after winning “You Are Super” vocal competition, Diana Ankudinova performed the full version of Dernière Danse during the Good Wave Festival which was a concert performance, not a competition.
