I watched every Kings game this season and I’ve played hockey a long time so here’s my take on PLD and the trade- PLD trade to Washington is A+ move by Rob Blake. PLD does not make the Kings better. He was always caught running around in the d zone. PLD is a big body but played small. He is considered a good skater….he wasn’t quick. If he was pressured he’d lose the puck. Not hard to pressure a big body that’s slow. He was center with the Kings top players and bottom players and could never really execute. Blake needed to move PLD or buy him out and he can’t buy him out until after the post season ends and game 7 happens on his birthday and his birthday ups the buyout penalty so the Kings were hamstrung.
