This is why they can't ever win in the division because they throw games like these away, always second place by only a couple points because they can't win the easiest games. No matter how good they get they always seem to get in they're own way, like your not oiler enough until you fuck up that's kinda been the culture of the team it's embarassing.

putting aside defense depth and improvements, the Oilers team has 3 areas of weaknesses to be a very solid, steady Stanley Cup contender. 1. Skinner, his lows are very low, his backup is often better but also not SC level. 2) Bouchard - also his lows are very low, as if he freezes and panics at times, as against Kings when he loses puck in OT and gives momentum and the game to the kings 3) Knoblauch - too passive, not managing crisis during game, not correcting mistakes that repeat too often in the defense, not motivating and demanding properly during breaks, insisting with some players on PP/OT even when they play poorly, allowing a Stecher to 'give' 8 min of penalties vs Ducks with no correction while punishing early in the Season Draisaitl at first penalty given, etc. So Skinner, Bouchard, Knoblauch are not Stanley Cup winning level.

Replacing guys like Holloway, McLeod or Foegele with Arvidson & Skinner has been a catastrophe so far !!! Podkolzin and Kapenin have been the only saving grace !!! Kapenin should still be playing with Leon and Podkolzin !!!
