There are really 3 scenario's for Leon that I see. #1: A one year deal so he and Connor re-up together. #2: Leon 8 year deal here. #3: Leon goes byebye and you try to get the best return you can. I can't see Leon wanting a 4 year deal. His prime years are the next 3 to 4. Why get paid LESS if you can get the max for 8? Great vid as always. Take care all.

forgot the last scenario keep leon for the season and not sign him and let him go too free agency at the end of the season

@@crepe1346 Actually I consider that option 3, Leon goes Byebye. The Oilers can't afford to get Tkachuk'd like Calgary did. They'd trade him to get return before that. If it's a close negotiation that goes beyond the beginning of the season for some reason I would be very candid with the agent and player that there is a finite amount of time and that time is nearly up. Give it a week then byebye without significant progress.

EEEEEKKKKKKKK Bowman was handed a dynasty crafted by Dale Tallon, then promptly wrecked it. Terrible contracts. Traded away multiple first round picks. Covered up a major sex scandal. Congrats Edmonton you replaced Holland with someone that is a worse person by a mile but also is better at deconstructing great teams. Jackson had such a great offseason and then decided to set the next 3 years on fire.

8 years at the max is scary. He probably has a couple years before age catches up and his play starts to drop. Also the big contract could just make him unmotivated on the ice. He is already lazy on the puck in the regular season. We need him for 3-4 years because he is a playoff beast.
