So many people forget that Sansa is a young girl who literally saw her father beheaded. She did not CHOOSE to stay with the Lannisters. She was too terrified to leave. The lack of empathy for Sansa always trips me out.

I think they were referring to the first time little finger gave her a chance to leave kl before she was married to Tyrion, but she said no cause she wanted to marry Loras. That's why I agreed with what they said, she had a choice to leave and stayed and realized her mistake and that's fine, but Brienne still has to bow to the king wether or not she likes it or she'll get killed. She was in kings landing.
@lobsters121112 ай бұрын
Yeah but she would understand that seeing somebody bow does not mean they are really loyal to the person they bowed too
@PandaRoo_YT2 ай бұрын
There is empathy... But she is a moron who is responsible for all her own suffering. She left Winterfell to be with Joffrey, she stayed there despite multiple opportunities to leave like with the Hound, she lied for Littlefinger despite them people being supporters of the Starks, she rejected Brieanne, at what point do people like you say the blame is on her?
@Sciciyoung12 ай бұрын
Arya was there for the beheading too. She heard it. She also was right outside as her brother and Mother were kilt. Some people have a choice and at some point she could have chose to leave. But things started looking sweet for her and she gave up that chance after everything she been through. After everything that happened to you at Kings landing NOTHING could make you stay. So she was harsh on someone who she just saw at Kings Landing

It’s wild to call her “emotional” for this decision. Call it stupid, short-sighted, whatever. But Rob was emotional. She was being political, ignoring her overwhelming emotion to not follow through. This is why women hate the over-use of “emotional” when she makes a mistake she thought was logical. Y’all were more correct with labeling it “blind justice”, because she’s trying to keep the peace on both sides even if she hates the masters. But it doesn’t work.

As far as why Valar morghulis and the coin makes folks ignore their uncle's funeral has to do with the city of Bravos, where the faceless men are based. It's because the city of Bravos was founded by former slaves (of Valyrians btw) who decided to create a city free of slavery. They are even more anti-slavery than Westeros. And the faceless men were the pioneers of the first inclinations towards freedom since they were a religious order but they started by freeing slaves who would rather die than be enslaved. And they freed them by killing them. Over time they morphed into assassins as well. But that's why it carries so much weight to any Bravosi because it's tied to their core values and cultural identity.

And now she wants to torture an innocent child. I don't like Cersei and Tywin, but her other two kids seem normal and kind. They need to be away from her. I feel like the dragons also represent Daenerys' mental state. She wants to be free like Drogon, but feels chained down like the other two by all the responsibility.

Drogon felt her distress. I don't know if this is correct but how I always read it was that she is not a conventional leader and her decisions cannot be that of a conventional leader. Impossible position for anyone. There is nuance to her freedom and leading a newly freed people. She made a contextual mistake; not procedural because she wasn't wrong technically, but reading the principle emotion of the people. They see her as savior and executioner of the oppressor. They want a mother. Not a ruler. Her justice was rigidly correct in an unfair world. They feel betrayed because they carry a weight of a thousand years she couldn't possibly understand.
@ello31103 ай бұрын
Daenerys was not being emotional in her decision-making in the slightest. Quite the opposite, actually. She decided to execute a loyalist whom she liked, as an effort to show that her manner of upholding the law is devoid of favoritism. You won't get special treatment for killing others; and no one's exempt from the law. He killed an offender who was arranged to be put on trial - that's a crime. Full stop. It doesn't matter if his intentions were beneficial for her or not; he still committed murder, and took a life that wasn't his to take. What I love about Daenerys' chapters is all of the conflicting moral dilemma's it puts forth, and although she could've handled the situation better, she's still learning.

6:20 The thing that bothered me about Sansa not going with Brienne at that point is like, Sansa was already within her line of sight way back at Joffery's wedding. Why she didn't approach her back then and gave her her loyalty oath then, I have no clue. I think that was a mistake in the writing, you know?
@NXS1FY4 ай бұрын
Daenarys was stupid here. She should had never killed that man. He and the other free slaves worshiped her and would have never allow anyone to harm her as long as she was their justice. When she killed him she basically turned her back on them, betrayed them. She become the exact thing she free them from a master. A great ruler a just ruler who vows to be loved would have gave some leniency to keep and gain favor of the people in which they rule. Her father the Mad King was a ruthless ruler who killed his enemies and non-enemies alike looked what happened to him. The people rebelled and over threw him and named a new ruler. She was going to give the harpy a trial to defend himself but she gave that man no trial for trying to do what he thought was right and to help his Queen. That was not smart on her part.
@rai24234 ай бұрын
But if she didn’t punish him that would mean that the law didn’t apply to the former slaves, which is stupid. A society where people can just do as they please and kill as they please without punishment is not a good society. The harpy was not caught murdering anyone, and they wanted a trial to get more information. The murderer didn’t need a trial since he admitted to his crime. You are not very smart.

Creeping up on 100k! I love to see it. Keep the content flowing guys 🔥🔥🔥 Edit: I dont think the coin is ever fully explained but the theory is that anyone from Braavos knows the coin bearer is either a member or recruit of the faceless men. You can ask the faceless men to kill anyone in the world but they have the right to refuse or ask any price (if you want your enemies son killed, they may require your own childs death as payment for example). So people of Braavos will go out of their way to help anyone in the order so that in case someone offers their name to the faceless men then the faceless men would refuse because that person once helped out a member. Thats the theory anyway. That was a lot longer than I thought it would be 😅

I appreciate the conversation you had about Daenerys’s decisions this episode. You’ve been my favorite reaction channel re: GOT, thank you. ❤
@darure4 ай бұрын
I understand disagreeing about Daenerys' decision, but I honestly understand why she did it, and those reasons don't have anything to do with being emotional. She needed to be fair: if she hadn't punished him according to the law, the masters could blame her of favoring the past slaves. Also, ser Barristan basically adviced her to be fair with the Harpy, Jorah probably would have adviced the same. Like you guys addressed, what Daenerys is trying to very hard push through right now is that everyone, regardless of their past, is an equal citizen now. I'm sure she feels more sympathy towards this boy than the Harpy, and if she wanted to act based on emotion, she would definitely pardon him. But she is trying to remain impartial. I even understand her desicion to make it public: She probably wants to avoid having to execute her people within the walls of the pyramid. She wanted to make it absolutely clear that she won't be making exeptions, the law will be the same for everyone. It's much like when Robb executed Lord Karstark. And yes, just like with Robb, it did backfire on her, now the people do see her as one of the masters: However, that is an unfair evaluation from them, albeit understandable giving the emotional and intense nature of the situation. But as a viewer, I don't think we should judge Daenerys as such, and I don't think she made an objectively "wrong" or a "bad" decision. No matter your reasoning, the path you take might have bad consequences. Much like you, I also wondered if there could have been a different kind of solution, like having a conversation with her people just this once as an example... But we can't know where that would have taken her, either.

You guys missing the point completely with some of the women in this show man. Shea is not some evil sex demon who decided to sleep with Tywin. She was captured by Cersei and sent to Tywin. Tywin is the one with all the power, what is Shea gonna do? Refuse him? No she's gonna call him her lion and hope he will protect her better than Tyrion could. Tyrion called her a whore and dumped her harshly so she was likely hurt and angry at Tyrion too. Yes she shoulda just left way before but she was just in a terrible situation at the end. Danny is not like the old masters for executing a murderer. She is trying to rule, trying to show that the same justice applies to everyone under her rule. Even if you are on her side, the side of the slaves, she still won't tolerate violence from you. How else are the masters and slaves ever gonna live together in Mereen? She wants to bring equality to Mereen, not revenge

Sansa is the dumbest person who ever lived in Westeros... She has had the opportunity to be rescued at least 10x and she always makes the wrong choice. As far as Daenarys, just think of our time in the Middle East. We went in and tried to show them "a better way" and while there was some appreciation for it, we were still foreign invaders and no matter what good we may have done, nothing changes that we were foreign invaders and would never be truly accepted. Daenarys conquered their city, changed all the rules without any understanding of the people or culture and while she may have done a few good things, she was nothing but a foreign invader.

Walk that man in front of everyone, explain what happened, why it was wrong, and that you forgive this man but forbid it in the future. Simple. Let that man continue living. Give the harpy their trials and kill them "justly", deal with whoever goes against you after you clarify differently. And Drogon smelled fear on Daeny, that's why he left after he smelled her
