The short lived 2005 comedy drama 'All About George' needed someone to play Rik Mayall [who was nearly 50] grandmother so naturally Edna Dore got the part!

She's similar to Liz Smith [born in the same year, 1921] in that while she had some earlier comedy credits [Smith is in an episode of the first series of 'Last of the Summer Wine'] it's wasn't until the 90's when they become a more regular fixtures when they entered there 70's.
