I'm on Android and App version 4.3.0; no "charging mode" option in the controller settings. Just playing around with the app, controller and M2P (without flying) for like 20 min drained the controller to 64%. What good is a charged phone when the controller is dead?

This is the only reason I use an iPad with my drone.......ios doesn't drain the controller battery. If your android phone is rooted you can install an app that prevents the phone from being charged through usb so all is not lost

Use the bottom port so it does not charge

Yeah, Android user here as well, that's really disappointing that we can't turn off the charge. I tried with the connection to the underside of the controller, but then the cable sticks out the phone bottom and through the remote holder which makes it awkward to hold on to while piloting.

Hello from 🇺🇸Harrisburg Pennsylvania 🇺🇸 I have both Phantom 4Pro with 5 batteries 🔋 & Mavic Pro with 3 batteries , 🔋 The Mavic Pro I pretty much take everywhere when I’m Jetskiing or riding around on both of my motorcycles 🏍🇺🇸🛵 cause the Mavic pro is small enough to fit inside both of my compartments on my Big Boy Toys ,If I’m not taking my Woman 👩 with me I always take my Phantom 4Pro plus and can put it on my back seat 😎 My question is should I upgrade and get the Mavic Pro 2 with fly more kit $1900.00 or keep what I have ?

I managed to fix the....MAG INTERFERENCE....error on my own. I took it away from the house in my front yard near a large rock. Finally it went throught calibration, the error message ended, and I was able to calibrate the IMU as well. Opti link is up now and it's ready to fly tomorrow. Yah, thanks to me!!!

My Mavic 2 Pro loses altitude during flight. For example, I move my drone to 10 ft height, and then I move the left joystick to left or right to rotate the camera and the right joystick to move the drone forward, both at the same time. I expect the drone to fly parallel to the ground, but it gradually loses altitude. Eventually I need to move it up using left joystick to avoid hitting obstacles. This is very annoying because with this problem, I cannot fly it safely close to the water surface. I am not sure what caused it. Is it because I didn't do the calibration?

Ok a question.when calibrating the imu it shows it with the gimble cover on.I had thought anytime the drone is powered on the gimble cover should be off.will it hurt anything (over time i guess as ive accidentlly done it 1ce or twice)if i power on with the gimble cover on???

New firmware doesn't have the option to turn of charging off phone when connected ? (Apperently this is only a IOS feature)

Denny Hall registration doesn’t need to be done unless your using the drone for commercial purposes. Most registration websites are not created through the government and are only after money.

I don't have the option of turning off my remote control charging my phone. Your clearly does, mine doesn't. My remote drains like crazy because I assume it is charging my phone.

I've since learned that only iOS devices have the option to turn off charging. Android devices don't have that option in the app.

Before i purchase this, can this drone actually fly 8km away from you? surely it would lose contact with the remote? or is this what the GPS functionality is? Im trying to understand the difference between GPS and vision modes. I would presume vision would be the drond staying in contact with the remote where as GPS uses sats to communicate? But then as writing this wouldnt this need GPRS to do that? Also how high (elevation) can this go disregarding local regulations before anything negative happens? Also how long does one battery take to charge from empty to full? When you press return to home, can you intervene its home macro and change the course?

For SD cards I recommend a V90 rather than a V30 -- especially if you have a fast camera recoding high-res video. You need a Write speed of approx 100 MB/s - anything slower increases the risk to lose frames in your video recordings.

I'm another new pilot (other than messing with Toy drones) that really had no idea on how to fly my newly purchased Mavic 2 Zoom drone, but after watching both Part 1 and Part 2 of your videos (several times over), I am finally up and running. It’s been a while since I set up my MP 1 and I’m getting the MP 2 for Christmas, I can use these 2 tutorials as a double check to make sure I don’t miss anything in my enthusiasm to get airborne. As a side note I was really pleased you clarified where you position the FAA reg details. I’m going to Alaska next year and have registered but found the Dynatape strips keep pealing away from where I had them as I thought they had to be visible. Under the battery is great.
