I'm SO glad I caught this when I did. I was as serious as this video about buying a new Bugatti Chiron. I was going to write the check the next day, but luckily, I watched Ed's vid on YT that night. Erased three zeroes on the check and headed for Nissan! oh, and those safety beams on the outside of the doors has come in real handy! Thanks Ed!

I honestly like the Micra. It really feels like a true small people's car. Newer cars are fat and ugly. This reminds me of the Mini or the old Fiat 500. It's small, practical, simple and just a nice car. This is where car evolution should have stopped. And I really am serious about what I just said. The Micra really is a dream car for me.

@aamirqz5 жыл бұрын
You make a convincing argument. You could've given the Micra one more point if you had shown the boot/trunk area and the amount of stuff you can carry when you fold the rear seats down. Can the Bugatti do that? Nope! Also, those black plastic strips on the door panels protect the car from dings and scratches when opening the doors next to other cars in parking lots. They do not provide any sort of crash protection.
@jorgesantoine243 жыл бұрын
The Nissan Micra also has a full size spare wheel inside the under boot area, so no need to get under the vehicle and get dirty to change a flat tyre like in some other bigger and more expensive vehicles.

Drivers of other more expensive cars and typical car reviewers usually under value the Micra, but those who own one know their true quality, which is great. I agree, the manual already makes it "200% more sporty" than any automatic. Also, contrary to what you might expect, it grips the road well, so you can drive fast, if you want to. Great review!!

I love the refreshing take on reviews and you make good points in your ridiculous way. We had a 1.0 Micra from the 90s. It was a very nice car within its obvious limits but lacked any safety features beyond seatbealts and its life ended when the more modern but very ordinary car in front braked more quickly than the tiny-tyred Micra could and the Micra's grill, light and bonnet all got broken on its rear bumper.

No joke, this generation of Micra is a design classic. Great little cars.
@oldtopgearsaab15 жыл бұрын
I know that this was a joke, bht i think that Ed is half true at least, because you can have maximum fun in a micra whilst doing the speed limit, and have the most fun on your dull morning journey to work and even in the car park. I doubt any of that happens in anything sportier than a Mazda MX5/Toyota GT86. I really miss my old 2000 Micra 1.0 celebration model 😔

I'll agree on the reverse light, the car should have two, one in each tail-light assembly. That aside, I need to give you some advice when doing piece-to-camera work while outside. Don't rely on your video camera's microphone to pick up your voice too well on outdoor shots. If your camera has a connection for an external microphone, get one with a good, long lead, or get a wireless micophone where the receiver runs on batteries and connect its(the receiver's) output to your camera's external microphone connection. If your camera *does not* have an external microphone connection(and most cameras don't have such a connection unless they're really expensive up-market models), then use a separate digital voice recorder(which creates a WAV audio file, same as that created by the camera). Start the camera and voice recorder, then give a good, loud clap of your hand, which serves as the synchronising sound for editing. When editing, import the video and the audio files, listen for the clap sound on the video and split just ahead of the clap sound(you'll see a visual representation of the waveform on the audio track under the video track, now mute the video's audio and add the voice recorder's recording to an audio track below that of your video. Listen again for that handclap and split the audio just ahead of that handclap. Unmute the video's audio track, cut the audio recorder's recording to clipboard(Ctrl+X), go to the beginning ov the video and then paste the voice recorder's audio back into place(Ctrl+V), now just nudge the audio from the recorder until the clap sound is in unison(no echo), Then render your clip for use in the final video production(you'll be editing out the handclap sound as ithas served its purpose). Do the initial recording part of this routine as often as needed for each piece-to-camera sequence you need to do.

I drive a 2006 Mazda 3, Nothing fancy, but it gets me where I want to go and it's alive and kicking. And it's a standard. I love driving standards and have only driven after my first car a used mid 60s Ford Custom 500 which I owned in the mid-70s. Standards are just so much more fun to drive. I like being able to down shift if I'm driving on ice up a mountain road for example. I've driven some of the newer vehicles and I find the computer screen in the middle of the dashboard a distraction. And I definitely relate about listening when I'm driving.

Mighty Micra - 0-60 in two days, downhill. I love my Micra, slow but simple to maintain, reliable and perfectly adequate for town use. I can do every job with a fairly basic set of tools. Most "high end" cars have components which need VIN coding - and that means using a main dealer due to the high annual subscription an independent garage must pay, per make and model.......Simple is better in my view: I get in turn the key, it starts, I am dry, warm and on the move - what more do you want - an ego massage?
