I have a huge respect for Edsel. I'm a Static X fan and I listen to Dope here and there. He is a beast live! To be able to pull off 2 sets a night with this style of pitched distortion is way harder than people realise.

Yeah back in the early 2000s before we all knew what was going on we really were hype about supporting the troops. As for me and my veteran friends who all joined in 04 era, we realized that it was in fact, we, who were the terrorists, invading places that had nothing to do with what happened.

From the time I heard the take your best shot with the kill barney intro I was an instant fan! But I love the evolution of Dope and the connection with fans as I remember looking forward to reading "The Straight Dope with Edsel Dope" in Metal Edge; I got to grow up with dope and I appreciate how Edsel has done his own thing, and ever evolving with new music and content for us! I have no idea how this man hasn't worked himself to death as the fan service, new music, new lyrics, successful Drama Club, touring, working, creating the videos, and also regenerating great stuff! \m/DOPE ARMY 4 LIFE\m/

Man, i met Edsel in Montreal in 2016 and the my favorite band Dope. He was so nice and too the time to talk to ke for 15 minutes after the show. I also got to talk to Acey about the Montreal Toronto Nhl rivalry. Amazing guys. Cant wait to see the live again. Even though i saw them 4 days ago for the Rise of the Machine tour.

My favorite track has been “Now Is The Time”. Such chunky goodness with a great theme! But my first time hearing them was actually live. Had no idea who they even were. They were support for Sevendust at a little club in Toledo, OH that we skipped studying for a Organic Chemistry test to go see. Must’ve been 2000. For whatever reason, they were late to the venue or late setting up, but it took like over an hour between the opener and them. We were like “these guys better be GREAT to make us wait this long” … and they WERE. Kicked so much ass (so did Sevendust)! Immediately went out and bought their cd! I’ve loved them ever since.

@andrewpardue3324
@andrewpardue3324 Жыл бұрын
@@ryangeorge2502 I have massive respect for Edsel in a lot of ways. Edsel Dope is the only person that can do it properly! A few different guys might have been able to wear the costume / mask etc and play Wayne’s guitar parts but …that part being said, No one else I can even think of seems like the right fit vocal wise and has the fan cred. at the same time to take on the “Zero” character. Edsel is an incredible singer , guitarist , producer and and hell of a lot more than that. His voice is super close naturally and his singing style is similar enough that he can alter it to match Wayne. That is all part of what makes Edsel uniquely qualified in the fans eyes to actually pull this off. I have listened to Dope since the first few albums, I have massive respect for Edsel. He was also actually friends with Wayne in real life and knows what he was like on and off stage. He’s a take no shit but very nice and intelligent person who does it all the way he wants like a true artist without compromising his vision just to sell more albums! Dope 🤟🏻😎🤟🏻Rocks ! And his tribute to Wayne Static as Zero is Awesome! I don’t give a shit what anyone says ! I can’t think of a better way to honour Wayne and his life and music ! I think that Wayne himself would dig it ! ( if I was him I know that I would ! ) As a huge Static X and Dope fan as well, I love it !

I honestly don’t see a mask on the wall, but it’s *DEFINITELY* Edsel who is *Xer0* 1. You can tell by his voice…especially when he talks to the crowd. 2. Edsel actually wore a WHITE MASK in *+ DOPE +* a few times & it was called *”Zer0”* BOTH with a zero instead of an O. Too much of a coincidence. 🤣 3. I know WHY he doesn’t want to take credit, & I admire that, but I think he should feel it’s ok to take a pat on the back from *STATIC-X* fans who want to thank him & show appreciation to him for making it all happen. 4. I LOVE *Xer0 2.0* looks so badass…especially with the red eyes! 🤘🏿

I miss Wayne but he wasn't right toward the end of his life. I saw him in Dallas with Tara running around bringing him shot of jeiger between sets. Literally a shot between every song. Still a good show though,just cause it was Wayne. I had more people check in on me to find out if I had heard of Wayne's passing and was I ok. More than when my mom passed in 2010. Just sayin ( I was a fan!) When the 20th Anniversary of WDT came around with the talk of a fo lead taking the place of Wayne,I was torn. Super conflicted with the idea of a look-a-like Wayne. Regardless, I rode to Gas Monkey solo and conceded to paying my farewells to one of my favorite artists. The vibe was cool and there were a few more youngsters there than I expected. I saw the front man Edsel for about a 3rd of the first song,then looked down and started dancin to some EVIL DISCO!!! I was movin and jammin with the crowd around me. Even a dude in a wheelchair a foot or so away was literally rollin to WDT! From start to finish STATIC X WAS PLAYING AND SINGING WISCONSIN DEATH TRIP. I never looked back at the stage but I felt and heard Wayne and the band tighter and clearer as if Wayne were sober and sharing his light. I watched this podcast and when I heard Edsel speaking on what Fear Factory should do. It put into perspective what he was able to accomplish with STATIC X. Edsel! You did your brother right! You guys honored him and brought back what he had lost toward the end,his spirit. I'm 52 and 19 year sober recovering addict. When my brothers and sisters fall from grace and pass to soon, it breaks my heart. You truly brought peace to his soul. Thank you for being you!

I love Edsel ,love Dope but to me ,well I won't go into the Pantera thing because Dime and Vinnie are my guys. And I love Wayne & Tera and I appreciate as a nobody fan commenting on KZbin Edsel carrying on Wayne's music but and with nothing but respect to Edsel and I don't know all the circumstances but with or without knowing how things ended between Wayne and the other guys there towards and at the end and well just out of respect how and why still use and or profit off of a deceased man's name with the other guys that waited to "reunite" the band only after Wayne passed but when Wayne was alive and wanted to get thermal band back together they wouldn't. And yes I know Static wasn't Wayne's real last name but you know what I mean. No hate. Nothing but respect. Just curious
