Holly King Yes, glad he tells a true story, one too many of us relate to. Sad it’s a helpless place to be in when there’s nothing more anyone can do, substances are quick or long brutal years watching a loved one die and not be able to get near them anymore. I’d say the worst is seeing them fade into a stranger, then forget their own family even children exist. Addiction over all is hard to accept...

Did you get to a point where you don't even think about it? Or while listening to the song, there not even a tiny feeling about That Feeling? I never stop hoping that it's possible and not just for those who now have these lives where they are completely different people. I know That is possible, some addicts became healers or even doctors etc. I am not at risk of using dangerous drugs today, but still, when i remember only that 1 minute of ...there's not even a word for it... feeling good, like exhaling all my life traumas. And do crave it. Not in a way that an active user does - that feeling whould not allow me to spill my heart on youtube. Even youtube lost some value then. I just really wish that i'll know that feeling and in this lifetime. Thank you for sharing, it gave me the courage to write something like this for the first time. ❤

And i couldnt help but feel the pain of not just today, or this week or month but of all the 14 years and this song just played and played in loop. And then finally i gave myself a pep talk, came across your comment and it made me cry again but a bit happier. Like i felt your wish and i truly truly wish the same for you with all my heart.

implied in the original comment was that he was homeless to the extent the woman in this video was. He wasn't. He was without a bed on some nights after gig and occasionally slept on the tube. But most nights he had a roof over his head. He may have technically been without a home, and if he was in ordinary employment then yes he would be described as homeless, but this is relatively common for a lot of musicians. No point people trying to make out he lived on the streets for years like some tabloids tried to do.

No lie, this song never fails to make me cry. I still remember when I was really young and I loved the melody and thought it was a pretty song. I memorized the lyrics and sang to it on the radio. But being young, I never really understood what the lyrics meant. Then one day it came on the radio again and i told my mother I loved the song. I said it was happy. She said it was sad. I asked, "How so?" She repeated the lyrics to me and I saw the song in a new light. I was pretty quick to piece together lyrics like, "Breathing in snowflakes," and "In a pipe we fly to the motherland." I told my mother, "I understand now," and turned my head to look out the window as it snowed. She asked, "Thinking?" I replied, "Yeah. The snow is pretty," while tears ran down my cheeks. I'm now 17. I haven't heard this song in years, but I just finished listening to it again. My heart still aches. My tears still fall.

I've never been homeless, but I have been out of a home for two weeks as a project. The life truly is hard for these people. I adapted by leaving city, but most homeless can't survive in the woods. Give them a helping hand, any food will do, a smile for once or perhaps do the project I did. Today, one of those I met whilst "being homeless" is my best friend, he has a home, with me, and I make sure he eats properly everyday. He is employed and has started a bankaccount named "Moving Out". I'm a proud adopter, and adapter, be one you too! We're all humans.

This song is based on a true story about a girl called Angel. In an interview, Ed Sheeran explained that ‘The A Team’ song was based on the experiences of a particular woman at the shelter called Angel, he sings ‘Angels to fly’ line in the song, he said: “’The A Team’ came from an experience I had when I did a gig at a homeless shelter. I was 18 at the time and kind of quite naïve. So, I was a bit taken aback by some of the stories that I heard. I got home that night and I just wrote a lot of the lyrics. I wanted to write it so it sounded kind of upbeat, so you wouldn’t really know what it’s about, because it’s quite a dark subject.” Sheeran stated that the song’s title, he said: “A drug like crack cocaine is called a ‘Class A drug’. That’s in the same category as heroin. Instead of making it clear and just saying what the problem was, I’d say, ‘She’s in the ‘Class A’ team.’ It was kind of my way of covering up “a person’s addiction”, I guess, making it a bit more subtle. But Sheeran also told Q magazine that the story of the song was inspired by a homeless person he met at a Christmas gig, he said: “I played at a Christmas gig for the homeless charity Crisis. I met this homeless there and her story inspired me to write a song. I wrote a tune about a similar situation, not entirely based on her, because I didn’t want to pinch someone else’s story. After it got into the charts I got lots of messages from parents saying that something similar had happened to their daughters. When I wrote it I never thought that it would connect with so many people, but it’s great it has.”

This song hits so hard , reminds me of a highschool friend who graduated top of our batch and finish college with flying colors from our country's top university. Sadly , a year after graduating he passed away due to heart attack. His someone who came from a very poor family which was his driving force to be on top. To cope with the pressure he abused alcohol and become a smoker , took so much toll on his body and little does his family know he had been suffering from lung cancer by the time he graduated. I guessed maybe God doesn't want him to suffer more and maybe his mission on Earth was completed already. I want to think as well that he is now an angel beside God

So many great double meanings in this song. A-team could mean she used to be an honor roll student or that she takes class- A drugs. The sinking wasting bit could be either from drugs or HIV, but could also reference the disillusionment that many of us experience in the transition from childhood to adulthood. The pipe could be referencing either a literal crack pipe or a 'pipe dreams' that pair with the earlier reference to day-dreaming. 'Snowflakes' could be cocaine or the cold-environment that is also reinforced. It could be an over-reaching analysis, and maybe Sheeran didn't intentionally write these lines as double entendre's but the ambiguity in this song I feel is quite masterful and makes the song relatable to damn near everyone.

@@FantasticBadger If you only knew and understood: Wordily pleasures for the ears and for the eyes: music, movies, sport. That kind of entertainment is given by lucifer to mankind, to keep them busy doing and knowing nothing, When human dies, he or she is surprised that he or she keeps existing. Yet the only reason for it is, they had their lifetime on earth catching delusions and illusions. Never loved the truth, never cared for it and as some used to say: 1st comes laughter, then turning of the head, then closing of the ears, freezing of the heart, then life in struggle and then regrets and cries. The last 2 shall be there forever. = the life of a ignorant fools. Creating “perfect” offspring who`s genetic DNA is mixed: human + animal + angel + inverting every soul + posses them with evil spirits = perfect spell casting, look at the public, they all sing and dance along not sensing reality. The tares and the wheat - a story in the bible. 2 different offspring, growing together, shoulder next to shoulder. The "rituals" haven`t stopped happening, these got renamed to fit the timelines: in our days, the rituals are: music concerts showing off the masonic hand sighs and symbols becoming "trans" still needed blood sacrificing (singers, actors, in need of sacrificing their loved ones and friends, later being the needed sacrifice themselves, these are knows an “accidental overdoses”). few more.

sub 'n' smile! Haha nice story, I'm just not that gullable. Sorry. And, and just so you know. Random subs don't get you anywhere. I have 14k subs, but they're random subs who subscribed because I have 1 popular lyrics video of 16 mln views (for which I don't get money). The videos I upload get like 500 views. If the 14k subs were for the content I now upload, it would be considerably more, but seeming as they're random subs, I don't get shit. That's what awaits you too for trying to get subs this way. Best thing to do is just start making videos and hope you go somewhere. YT is not an easy business. The one thing I wanna give you as advice: don't make up some lame ass story and lie to your subs. I know, I know. This is YT, so you're probably gonna stick with your story, but just try to consider what I'm saying here. We both know you're not being truthful. I'll throw you a bone and subscribe, but it isn't gonna matter for shit. You'll see.

2024 anyone? This song hits home as I lost my little brother he was 18 years old he died January 23rd of 2024 he was an addict fighting addiction growing up just as horrible as the rest of us addiction got him at they young age of 13 he died in his friends house at 3am from a fentanyl overdose my mom and I got a call from his friend at noon the next day and said he wasn’t waking up he knew he couldn’t go home to our moms house because he was high so he stayed at his friends house when we got there he was in the back room ems pumped him full of ever drug they had trying to bring him back but he was to far gone they thought they seen something on the machine that resembled a heart beat so they took him to the er where we all went we stood by his bed side as they called time of death we sat with him and held him while my mother cried in our arms the drs and nurses and Ems were incredible and now when I’m sick and I go to the er I always end up getting the room facing the one he died in

I honestly really need to get this off my chest. 10 years ago, songs used to be so 'real' like she will be loved by maroon 5, love the way you lie by rihanna, eminem and skylar grey, the a team by ed sheeran and so on... what happened? Where are the songs describing real life struggles and sacrifices and emotions? Where are the songs that actually made it seem like you were listening to a piece of art, poems almost? It seems it got downhill after 2016 and now it feels we hit rock bottom. Also with the social media, instagram etc dominating life so much and people aiming for those 'perfect' lifestyles, musicians trying to make bops about sex and fun. What happened to the simpler times when we didn't compare our lives as much and put our struggles into words? I miss it and i didn't realize times could change this much...
@alexanderwilson65134 жыл бұрын
Yeah, i know some people would say 'we just grew up' but i was 25 when this came out and now 35 and i can confirm that times did really change regardless of the 'growing up' we did. It's a much more toxic society, sadly.

U gotta go to the Alternative or Punk (or some people call it emo or scremo) Listen to these bands: 1. All Time Low (the band not the song) 2. Pierce The Veil 3. Sleeping With Sirens 4. Three Days Grace 5. Melanie Martinez (her K-12 album movie is AMAZING there are SOOO many good topics she covers like women's bodies, eating disorders, men in government and more! Her Crybaby album is also AMAZING she talks about depression, being a child in a home where theirs infidelity and abuse its just all great!!!!!) 6. Pink 7. Jesse J And I can list more if interested! I basically only listen to music that is relatable or emotional or inspiring
