Hi Edspira, I really appreciate your videos. You have a great way of explaining things and making it interesting. I have one question about this. In this, you state that ASU's are GAAP. In my CPA review course, they state the ASU's are not GAAP. What do they mean by this? It confuses me because I don't feel that they've explained that part very well. Please let me know what you think about this. Again, thank you so much for these videos.

An ASU is a new accounting standard that was issued. The ASU becomes part of the ASC (the codification). Thus, the new lease accounting standard issued in 2016 was called ASU 2016-02, because it was the second accounting standard update in 2016.
