I love how Disney freaked out about how the Blank action figure could have spoiled the whole movie back then and like 90% of merchandising for every movie immediately spoils it now. Remember when the third Shrek film came out and they spoiled the reveal that he was going to be a father because of all the Baby Shrek merchandising, even the Happy Meal promotion?

I remember being a little kid and playing with lawn darts with aunts, uncles, and cousins. Nobody ever got hurt. However... Those Star Wars lightsabers. A bunch of friends bought a bunch of them, I think later release as there were blue ones and single bladed (Vader) red ones. No one got burnt the one night we had a big battle-off, but I sure as heck hurt my ankle and had to call into work the next day. Lightsaber injury is possibly one of the best excuses to call out of work.

@@MybeautifulandamazingPrincess I think you might be misunderstanding. WE were the kids using the metal spike projectiles. As you can see we're all here and alive. You see back in the day kids were actually taught by their parents how to safely handle things in the world around them. Something they tend not to bother doing anymore. So, no, parents weren't incompetents that didn't know what they were doing. They were attentive parents that bothered to take time to teach. Sorry if your experience was different.

When I was a kid I got a set of lawn darts from a yard sell. Me and my friend would launch them into the air at each other. One of them came down with sun behind it and I couldn't see it. I put my arm up to block the dart and it stabbed me in the forearm. If I hadn't put my arm up it would have taken my eye out. They went into the trash after that.

When I was a kid, one of my neighbors had the power pad & track game. There was 3 brothers, the oldest was friends with my older brother. And the younger twins were my buddies. It's funny the things you remember, like I remember we were living in Flint MI at the time, & I remember we played that game mainly during the winters because it kept us warm. Winters in MI get pretty cold, but man that game had us all sweating after just a few minutes. I remember we would have to alternate people in single player because it just took so much out of us. I miss those days, had completely forgotten about that until this video, thanks for bringing back some good memories

I miss lawn darts, but some parents want the government to parent their kids, even with a "for adults only" label. I was 5 and knew not to toss one if someone was in the line of fire. Horseshoes could kill someone if you connect with their heads. Baseballs have killed people too, so why not ban them as well?

The CSI fingerprint kit is even more interesting when you learn that its not actually a toy. Its an actual contact lifting kit used by actual CSIs thats been repackaged as a toy. The powder we use to lift prints in real life is highly, highly carcinogenic and the brush bristles we dust the contact is made from fiberglass.

@@oneeyesmiley55 It's possible but but in Toronto where I'm from. I looked everywhere from Toys R Us, Zellers which was our big department store before Walmart came to Canada, Woolco another Canadian Store, Consumers Distributing which advertised the figure in their Catalogue but they didn't ever have it. Sears didn't have much of a toy department in the actual store but they had a lot more in their Wishbook Catalogue that you could order from so it's possible it was sold from there. I didn't notice it though. Just like the last series of the LJN WWF figures, I wasn't ever able to find the Ultimate Warrior in My area. I don't think we ever got him and some others from the last series as some of the figures were cancelled in general. It wasn't until Hasbro took over making the figures that I got the Ultimate Warrior but the same thing happened at the end of the Hasbro line. Many of the fugures just to name a few because many didn't ever get released in Canada including: Razor Ramon, Shawn Michaels, Crush, The Rocket Owen Hart, The Steiner Brothers, The Smoking Guns, Bret Hart all attires, The Undertaker, The British Bulldog, The Headshrinkers, Bam Bam Bigelow, Mr. Perfects Blue Attire, Hulk Hogan Red suit, and Yellow suit, etc. Back then there was no online so you would just have to go to the States to find them. Even then they were hard to find. It was just certain areas that got them. The second line of the WCW Galoob figures we didn't ever get either. Only the first series we got. Anyways you can find pretty much anything today but for insane prices!

My friend got a swing bike from his uncle back in 1994. I was 17, and trust me it was really easy to do tricks and ride without falling off. Definitely not dangerous to older kids, 10 and up.

Woah- that’s what happens to my lightsaber? I had the darthmaul saver and it’s middle melted and I had no idea why. I was grounded for 4 month because my mom thought I was playing with a lighter and burning it.

There was a Big Lots/Odd Lots store when I was a kid that sold Atari games for $1, $2, and $3. They had STACKS of the Stadium Events game. STACKS. Nobody bought em, and my parents wouldn't let us buy one because it needed other equipment. Who knew

There was a gameshow in Finnish tv in the early 90’s where one part of the show was that nintendo stadium game. We used to also rent it when renting the 8bit NES for the weekend from a local videostore, as it was done in the dark ages. Yeah, everybody didn’t have their own NES’s but that way pretty much every one interested was able to get their hands on a NES.

@@EdsRetroGeekOut sold it back in 2004 at a rummage sale my grandma was having because I wanted to play world of warcraft after seeing what the game looked like on G4. I figured if I'd ever want to go back to it badly enough I'd emulate it. Funny thing is I bought it at a rummage sale to begin with years earlier out of a box of Nintendo games that a family was trying to get rid of for some extra bread.
