I'd want to create a set based off of ideas and cast members that didn't make it into the final movie. Call it "Ghost Smashers", with figures based off of John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Eddie Murphy, and Harold Ramis. Then give them the dual-wielding wrist-mounted proton wands like in the original concept art.

Ed's Retro Geek Out it sounds something like this: CASA (home in spanish) PHAN (almost like fan, but harder on the A) TAZ (like the Looney Tunes character) MASS (as in sunday mass), then just put them all together and voilà!, you can now pronounce “Cazafantasmas” like a real Mexican!

I had the Gorilla Ghostbusters cartoon on VHS and always wondered what was the deal with these guys. I think it was bought for me thinking it was the real Ghostbusters. I did enjoy it but. This was a cool video Ed! - Deke Strike

Filmation Ghostbusters is one of the best and most underrated toy lines out there. I had a bunch when I was a kid, and when I came across a Scared Stiff on eBay a few years ago, I dove right back into collecting them again, and it's a good thing I did, because they have sky-rocketed in prices. Great video, always appreciate seeing horror/ghost-themed toys getting some love.

Hey can you make a vid on bootleg video game controllers I know now there not considered bootlegs but back in the early 90's there where tons of swap meet and thrift store knock offs of nes and genesis controllers

The funny thing about cheap knockoff Ghostbusters toys being at dollar stores to me is that I remember when chain dollar stores started to become a big thing, they had a wall of unsold official Real Ghostbusters Toilet Ghosts and maybe that old lady ghost figure that were selling for a buck each. Even today, I rarely see many bootleg toys at official chain dollar stores (cheap fashion dolls and those really cheap transformer type toys), but rather either cheap official figures, sometimes even by Hasbro or Mattel, or the occasional failed toy line in clearance. The kind of bootleg we'd see here I'd find in those dodgy local "Super 99" type dollar stores where NOTHING actually costs a dollar.

Actually the Ghostbusters movie producers bought the rights to the name from Filmation for a flat rate plus a percent of the profits. Then had Hollywood accountants cook the books so technically the movie has never made a profit, thus they screwed Filmation out of owed money, Filmation would have forgiven them if they allowed them to produce the cartoon for them but they said no and went with DIC. since they owned the name they produced their own cartoon and the movie producers then had to change the name of their cartoon.

While I usually would hate a big budget studio screwing over the little guy, I'm glad what happened happened. I do NOT see Filmation producing a Ghostbusters cartoon the same quality as the DIC series, even if they did share a lot of the same writers. I just see the Filmation series with Ray, Peter, Egon, and Winston. Fighting a singular, main villain and his henchmen rather than various monsters of the week because even with Columbia's money, Filmation would reuse the crap out of everything. So we have a great series and a so-so series instead of a single okay series. Though, considering the original concept for the movie before Ramis was brought in, Filmation DID have their series feature their Ghost Busters traveling through time and space.

The reason filmation made their ghostbusters cartoon is because Columbia which was owned by coca cola was notoriously cheap and fucked filmation on the rights to make the cartoon as filmation was a US based company. They decided to go overseas with their animation...I believe it was Dic!
