I think I have the chip as well , as my car won’t start when I switch to a new shell case :/

It's my understanding as long as you are using same key and battery case (the part he covered up ) then it shouldn't effect the immobilizer transponder because that's where it's located 🤷‍♂️

Mine did too but I broke it to open it and popped the chip part out 🙂 maybe that will work for you?

You have to carefully pry out the little immobilizer chip on the inside side..take some pliers…and peel it out…Otherwise it wont work!

Only for the older keys. The newer ones only the box needs to be moved over as I show in the video.

@kelleyregan8921 if the fob part with the 3 buttons is glued you should be able to pry off of the clam shell. It may only have a drop of glue. Sounds like someone replaced a battery and broke it and then glued it, as it should fall right out after opening the clam shell

The security reason is not to show a code serial number or anything else that may be used. Better to be safe than sorry no? Its not like its a uber safe place on this planet.

I don’t see the link to the kit, but I’ll look. My problem is that I can’t get the screw loose. Feels like it was super glued in place. The key broke out of the fob, but I can’t do much with that dang screw stuck in place. At least I have a plan if I can free it. Thanks.

fob fits perfectly but car wont start, notice there is an extra piece on the replacement covering the key, the original key fob is even, leaving the key longer.

Keys can be different between the generations. The older model has a small pill that needs to be moved as well. I didnt have any to show like that when I recorded this video.

My Pilot Fob has the security chip so the replacement didn’t work .

@JuanAvila-mb5yk That is strange. On some Hondas the fob has a small chip that is removed from the original key and placed in the new key. It is a small black chip near where the metal key is in the plastic casing. They sell a different plastic clam shell for that. Did you get the right one and did you move the small chip over?

How come the screw on the car key cannot unscrew from it.

It may be stripped, you will need to add some force against the screw as you inscrew it. You can do this with a flat head driver against the screw or by prying the housing on the key as you unscrew. It may also be the screw is frozen in there so a little heat or some pb blaster to loosen it up may work

@tylertrovato5688 This video includes the security feature. It is integrated in the small box where the battery is housed. Different years or models have a small peice or magnet that must be moved as well, but these keys for this model does not have that and is the reason I did not show it.
