Yeah your not wrong, it's way too small! People think because it's an alligator snapper that they don't move much, but that consensus couldn't be more wrong! At night in the rivers they move and travel quite a bit! Love the aquascape channels but a tad disappointed in this!

Ed - I have a question not related to that amazing turtle. It is in regards to IonGen Copper Ionizers. I had one in my pond and it certainly helped with algae, but it finally wore out and failed. I also have fresh water fish tanks and was doing some water treatment and it happened to be copper based. In reading the label it said get all invertebrates out of the tank - copper is lethal to them. So I decided to no replace my IonGen (it was mid summer). The next spring I had lots of dragon flies and damsel flies and other water bugs. My Koi are also wintering better - maybe spring and fall natural munchies available? So finally around to my question. It seems like in an eco system pond - insects play an important part. What do you think? Have you had the same experience with copper ionizers? I fixed my algae issue by building a wetland filter - now I have crystal clear water and a lots of interesting invertebrates too. :)

Wouldn't Woody do better outside in the pond instead of an enclosed space. The tank seems so small for how active Alligator Snapping turtles are in foraging for food in the wild and general movement. Yeah they tend to go into deep caves and under banks of rivers and lakes, but they do roam quite frequently.
