I love your vids. Keep them up I am learning so much. New to this hobby. I did make kits as a kid but want to get back into it. I’m collecting all the stuff you use slowly but surely.

A very enjoyable model kit build. Thank you. You may be correct on the cockpit color being RLM 66 not RLM 02. I'm no expert but I believe the cockpit color was changed to the RLM 66 from the bf 109-E4 onwards.

I wish Eduard has some DC-3 in the portfolio :-) They make very nice kits, those photoetched parts and canopy masks are a treat, compared to Airfix cheapo kits
@scalemodellingmadness41144 жыл бұрын
Hey Vladimir, I myself have been looking for a good DC-3 kit. I want to make it in Indian Air Force colours. But I am yet to come across a kit that I like. I would like one in 72nd scale or smaller, because I just don't have the space for a 48 scale kit.
@MrDoncarnage4 жыл бұрын
Scale Modelling Madness I would like to see you model one very much ;-) I found one Italeri kit, will give it a try ( 1/72 ) but It wont be as nice as profi pack from Eduard. You do incredibly nice models, if your space will alowe it one day, maybe try some ww2 airfield diorama, that could be a great youtube show too
@scalemodellingmadness41144 жыл бұрын
@@MrDoncarnage I was thinking of making a 48th scale diorama with a spitfire that has emergency landed, you know wing ripped, prop bent, etc. in a field. And the pilot is standing next to it and smoking with a farmer alongside. I was thinking of calling it "that was close". But that project is still several projects away, but that's the idea :)

Is it common to use chrome for chipping? I mean it looks great, but I've not seen it before. Looking forward to part 2!
@scalemodellingmadness41144 жыл бұрын
Hey Stephen. The reason I used chrome for the cockpit is that it is shinier and is better visible in places which are relatively hidden from sight, like the cockpit interior. Aluminium and other conventional chipping colours get dull, specially if applied before a wash or varnish, and become very difficult to see inside the cockpit. So, that was my thinking behind using chrome on the outside. I often also use a mix of aluminium chipping and then add chrome chipping as a highlight (very sparingly) to suggest that some chipping is more fresh and so more shiny :)

Very nice. Which washings are you using? :)
@scalemodellingmadness41144 жыл бұрын
Hey Lenny, I use a mix of washes. For smaller features I usually use Tamiya Panel Line Accent Colour. And often I make my own oil wash with black, brown oil paints and turpentine :)

Very nice model! Just as always the music is a bit annoying and makes the video hard to watch. Consider lowering the volume on the music, or picking different pieces entirely.
@scalemodellingmadness41144 жыл бұрын
Thank you Massimo. I have lowered the music level to as low as I thought it would not be a distraction. I will surely lower it further. But, audio and video often behaves differently on various gadgets. But still, I will try. As for the music choice, I am afraid, I am restricted in choice by what KZbin has to offer as free for use. Else, the video gets flagged for copyright violations.
