I actually liked the first adaptation better than Brotherhood. It has much more dark vibe to it

The two of them is good. But Brotherhood for me have a better end, Edward marries with Windy and have childs, he loses his alchemy powers, but stays with Windy is better than alchemy powers. In this version, he "loses" his alchemy power too, but Edward comes to "our" world and never see Windy anymore, this is not just dark vibe, this is horrible. Propably he marries Windy of our world, but this is not the same thing.

I kinda did too in many ways but the story in Brotherhood was a lot more fleshed out. Overall both are great series for different reasons. I that's why I feel kinda bad that FMAB ended up overshadowing FMA such that you can't even stream it legally anymore.
