The red buttons will fit onto the switches. The switch post is rectangular and the buttons have a rectangular hole that will allow them to press fit onto the switches. The buttons will fit onto the switch shaft so that you can turn the system upside down and they won't fall off, even without the black plastic plate over them.

For the black belt, before cutting it, use it to measure the length of belt used for the two Y rails and the single X rail. You will have several centimeters of belt left over. I had an extra 24 centimeters of belt. I divided that 24 by 3 (which gave me 8 centimeters) and used that as the amount to add onto each of the lengths for the 3 stepper motors drive belts. My 17x22 system ended up using 12 1/4 inches for the X rail and 15 inches for the two X rails. Adding the 8 centimeters to each gave me 39.1 cm for the X rail and 46.1 cm for each of the two Y rails. Install the belts and their end brackets before installing the two large plastic end plates onto the engraver frame. You should install the laser head onto the laser assembly and install the drive belt on the rail without the rail installed between the two Y assemblies. After the laser head assembly and the drive belt has been assembled onto the rail, it can be mounted between the two side Y stepper motor assemblies.

When I first put my system together, the laser would not come on when the power switch was set to on and the Laser aim switch was set to on. My system required the 12V potentiometer on the board to be adjusted until the laser just came on. Be careful about using the 'low power' aiming function. It is still powerful enough to melt plastic and could damage the surface of a project.

I would recommend against running the Y1 and Y2 servo cables with the X and Laser cables. The frequent extra movement from side to side as the laser head assembly goes back and forth will bend and break the cables where they attach to the servos. The Banggood video shows how the route the Y1 and Y2 cables through channels along the side rails.

No you need a CO2 laser for glass. This is just not powerful enough.

I have the same laser engraver. maybe you can help me out with.i am thinkink to upgrade it . the engraving dimensions are 17*20 but i noticed that x,y axis still trying to move further.if i buy a 2020v aluminum frame bigger for example 50 cm.will this laser be able to cut bigger pisses? Or it can not because of the command pcb board? Also thinkink to buy belt tensors and for faster movement of the axis when engraving

Savvas Very good timing...I have been considering a laser like this. Please do post a video on using it for your chopping block. I make cutting boards and chopping blocks and it is for this reason I want the laser. I'd like to see how it goes for yours. Also, I did not see you pull the aluminum extrusion fro the box...did these come with the kit?

Would you say that the test on your cutting board is a little light? I like a branding iron but I have not been able to find a way to get one made at a reasonable cost.

The 2.5W laser is powerful enough to engrave on a chopping board, but not powerful enough to cut through a chopping board. It will only cut through thin and soft materials. Also remember that the beam will be strongest at its point of focus. Above and below the point of focus, the beam will spread out and be weaker.

Do real glasses protect or is it only false? Hello. Nice video. I am planning to get one myself for quick DIY patches. And I haven't heard anywhere if the laser can cut through cordura fabric. I was thinking of getting 5500mW and I have no idea if it is strong enough. Aslo can it etch black anodized aluminium? Thanks in advance

cleaning the acrylic with rubbing alcohol reduces the smell a lot, else it will stay for a while.

Maybe one of the wires is swapped incorrectly. Be careful when checking the laser. Use shielded googles and don't look directly into laser.

Yeah it came with a USB cord, not sure about the panel. Really should double check with the manufacturer.

Hi to all. VERY interesting video, but somewhat incomplete, I may humbly say. The person didn't include the instruction on how to load the software, the driver, nor the firmware. I'm stuck at this point. I bought one from Banggood, 2500mW (2.5W), and still trying to make it work! Wrote to Banggood for help, they wrote back fairly quickly to ask me to send videos of my problem. So I did, the same day, and since then, no replies! It has been 2 days! Total Radio Silence from them. It seems that I can't load the Firmware into the controller. Could someone help me get it going? .. Please? .. Pretty Please? I'm desperate! Tried everything! I think I need to flash the ROM and start over again, but I don't know how to flash it. I'm stuck! Thanks to anyone that can help. Thank you VERY much for ANY help. All the best!

Well, I'm going to put mine together this evening, so I'll be able to tell you for sure here in a little bit, but since there don't seem to be any end stops, my intuition is that you position it manually, use G92 to set the XY zero, and then run operations from that point.

Okay, bear in mind I'm not using EleksCam (the Windows-only software I'm sure is totally safe to install), I'm using LaserWeb, and I flashed vanilla GRBL on the controller, but yes. You manually jog the laser to where you want it and then zero the gantry. wherever it is will be treated as zero. The stock board has no plugs for end stops, though with a bit of wiring modifications you could use a standard Arduino/CNC shield running GRBL and add them.
