Manasvi Singh, we earn marks as to show the message(grades/marks) to everyone, including employers that we are smarter than the uneducated population. Glad you have that part covered. I will always think fondly of my time at SECMOL with the crop of "lost and confused" students ( though I never thought of them that way ) but rather as totally alive, young, native, colorful and brillant Ladahk youth of SECMOL along with Becky, you and the other volunteers of those days - the early days of the Phey campus. I dream of the being on the plateau above the beautiful Indus SECMOL often. I was moved the lowest side of so called marks in Indian educational system because i am thinking about new innovations and ideas and teachers want only knowledge in the syllabus not external knowledge. Now I am facing issues for thinking out of the box. But i know people like Sonam Wangchuk are there to help me and i will do inventions with their help. I love to see and hear this video atleast once a day as it inspires me to continue my innovative studies on new ideas and bring them to life in the rejected world of education. Yes i have scored 55% in engineering till TE n im in my final year and soon im gonna apply to a patent or research paper for my project who doesnt knew my marks when i took it atleast and also not an IITians or NITian or that person im a normal person who has innovative ideas.

Our physics teacher always say about vizualizing things rather than applying formulas blindly and obtaining the answer, our maths teacher on other hand, after solving any question on the board or teaching any new theory etc. repeatedly asks students if they want to do any discussion and tries to analyze problems in numerous other ways rather than going in one direction..same for chemistry and i love their teaching style as compared to other teachers i've seen over the past few years..sad thing there are only few teachers like i mentioned in India, more dependency on marks, results, rank etc. has led down the quality of education in our country, students nowadays focus more on obtaining marks rather than understanding things.
