I'd also add that Darren runs brilliant sessions for community groups such as Scouts and can testify to the fact that the children and adults all gained a huge amount from our visit. Great fun.

Very important point , children need to remember where we all came from , the railways helped build this country moving people and materials and still does , without the past we can't evolve ,

Loved my school trip with Connaught muddle school back in the late 80s. The poor guide really had to keep a straight face when he asked us what the engine was called and instead of looking at the nameplate one of my classmates looked at the coach next to us and said its called buffet. I made a fool of myself when I couldn't remember that engines marked WD meant that they were war department! As a self confessed train nut I never lived that one down for the rext of the year!
