Dear Will, I made the leap and have now joined the P-Way at Medstead. We took a ride on the Wickhams trolley and headed up line to Alton. I worked my first shift with Adrian C doing gauge testing and Ballast levels recording and I had a great time. I hope to be out on the track again soon....

Excellent! Welcome aboard! Adrian's a cracking guy (I mean the whole pway team are superb!) and the bonus of riding to location in the Wickham is a treat in itself. Looking forward to seeing you around! Will

Here is an idea when you finished building Canadian Pacific, you can have your own Bulleid steam gala like the Swanage did as well as have it as during the summer so you can recreate The end of Southern steam by withering all the engines as well as bringing in engines who are static display and recreate them into the engines waiting for the scrap yard. Whilst the summer heat could derail the event with the fires you can always have it early before summer but that is up to you and here is who should be at this event. This is just an idea and suggestion you don’t have to do it, but I hope you will consider it 😊 Guests: Tangmere Manston City of Wells 92 Squadron Orient Archibald Sinclair Taw Valley Home-fleet: Canadian Pacific Static fleet in withered condition: S15 Wadebridge Blackmoor Vale Please let me know what you think Kind regards Oscar

Loved my school trip with Connaught muddle school back in the late 80s. The poor guide really had to keep a straight face when he asked us what the engine was called and instead of looking at the nameplate one of my classmates looked at the coach next to us and said its called buffet. I made a fool of myself when I couldn't remember that engines marked WD meant that they were war department! As a self confessed train nut I never lived that one down for the rext of the year!

Great video, fantastic workshop facilities. Shouldn't wear gloves when working these machines though, greatly magnifies the risk of hand entrapment. From a machine woodworker of 40 years experience.

I'd also add that Darren runs brilliant sessions for community groups such as Scouts and can testify to the fact that the children and adults all gained a huge amount from our visit. Great fun.

Very important point , children need to remember where we all came from , the railways helped build this country moving people and materials and still does , without the past we can't evolve ,

Kinda cool that it's still used here in Belgium, where there are coaches that have a control cab. We even started implementing a mix of emu and coach control cabs with the latest M7 dubbledecker coaches.

Love the videos will! A video that would be really good, would be you firing the line, whilst mic’d up and cameras, explaining where your putting the coal and why. Is that something that would be possible?

Thanks for that. Into the 1960s Push Pull trains ran between Three Bridges and Tunbridge Wells West. I once got a ride in the engine cab from East Grinstead to Forest Row with the engine pushing, on the line that has long been lifted.

Born 1925. Banging panels on CP aged 16 1941. Now 98/9 years old. How many women in the last Census would fit these criteria? Go for photos. Hit the major archives if not already done. There may always be the one in a million chance of a result. I hope so. The old thousand words adage is never more true than in circumstances such as this. I have no photos of my Grandmother taken during the time from my birth in 1947 to her death in 1973. Thanks to other agencies however, I do have a poignant and powerful image of her aged 8 in 2904, when taken up for adoption. That's how powerful the celluloid image is...

Probably wartime propaganda films, a lot were made during the war to boost the morale of the population. Just like the cardboard tanks lined up in fields in kent prior to the D Day landings.

From what I read, there was not only mechanical operations on push-pulls,there were cable, and vacuum versions of controls! The Isle of Wight has the LSWR type PP's operating, with air pumps! Query; What other companies/ regions used what systems for PP services?? Thank you for time and efforts, well done! Thank you 😇 😊!
