One time I met Awkward in person, I was ordering a caramel latte in a small coffee shop, he had just ordered a room temperature water. I asked if I could get a selfie because I was a big fan, he said sure. He then proceeded to put me in a headlock while turning to the other customers. "See what I'm doing guys?" he asked "Isolate a target and then damage, damage, damage!" as he struck me in the head with multiple powerful blows. Just before I lost consciousness I heard him say "Look, you see how easy that was?". . .overall REALLY nice guy IRL.

I'm playing Brig since many seasons, always stuck in plat. I always thought I need to be close to my other support to help them out and I often was way too far away from the fight to inspire consistently or do any damage. Then I would overcompensate by chasing targets for too long until they ran to a health pack or teammate and killed me.

I know this is late but thanks for commenting this. I went from bronze 4 to now plat 5 in the past 2 weeks from really focusing on achieving these stats. I average 60% whipshot accuracy and around 40% inspire uptime. In certain games my inspire drops to 29 or lower and I then know I’m doing bad. Those goals of 50 and 35 are really helpful. That's why I miss Quake. Played over 15 yrs but the current iteration is a messy attempt at appeasing the hero shooter crowd. 9:22 totally agree. Also, idk how ppl could think having a shield is bad against snipers. Just living on brig gives tremendous value and her shield allows her to protect herself, another teammate , and ping the snipers. I also love distracting a widow with brig. If she has to shoot my shield 3x then that’s 3 shots that didn’t hit my teammates.

Awkward single handedly made me better at video games in general. Once you understand the fundamentals, you can break down many things to their most basic forms. With brig the best tip he gave was for the feeding doomfist in one of his first games. Objectively the tank is feeding, but he created some opportunities while he fed. This is really what I've noticed in Overwatch 2, and now many games. Your "weaknesses" can be a wonderful distraction for creating real value. Brigs great for that because she already gets a lot of value from distractions through inspire. Watching Awkward also Play Against Rein, Pharmercy, Mei is a great example of this. Youre only countered if you only make plays those characters counter, so dont make those plays until you can snowball the fight anyways.

Haven't watched yet. So I'm gonna try and come up with an NPC excuse for him winning. He's clearly got better game sense, he knows all the characters and how they work and what they do best. It's seems like a simple strategy but really its just him being super aggressive and knowing when to engage and when to disengage. With that out of the way, glad to see another unranked to gm. My thoughts every time I play OW is either: How can I do more damage(not using aim as an excuse), and: What did I do wrong and what can I do better? Thank you for helping me change my mindset, its made my games much more fun.

I mean all of those things are true though. His advice and playstyle is extremely informative, and helpful for any rank, but watching these videos isn't magically going to make you better. For most, it'll likely make them feed for a few games as they accidentally overextend by trying to play more aggressive but failing because they don't realize that ana can sleep them, or rein can out duel them, or 1,000 other reasons that you can only learn from playing the game. I'm still very glad he makes these, because supports especially don't play nearly aggressive enough in almost every game I play in. Heck, the reason why Lifeweaver is so bad is because he's the only character in the game practically incapable of going aggressive, outside of mercy, who can damage boost an aggressor instead.

This is by far my favorite Awkward U2GM because it honestly shows that it's mostly game sense that is required to climb not mechanical ability. With that said, there's one thing in here that he does but doesn't necessarily explain that's very important about Brig. She's amazing at claiming, keeping, and denying space. I'm not saying to frontline with her because at higher ranks this will get you repeatedly killed. But space that's been left open or cleared she can quickly claim and keep. It's an invaluable trait of her design that is often overlooked.

Won't work, or at the very least would take ages. Lifeweaver is borderline incapable of playing aggressive. His entire kit is disengaging, peeling, and surviving. His weapon is the worst in the game by far, even worse than baby dva pistol. And since his healing requires pre-healing and set up, you can't even really switch to the weapon to attempt to use it. He can't play aggressive and carry games. His average damage per game is comparable to mercy, which is sad since most mercy literally never use their gun

I think I understand whats going on. Its the same with Warzone players. Activision have a community PR Marketing team that interacts with all sorts of players even when they don't realise it. This is proven and streamers also bloat about how they have contacts in Activision. They take there static IP and apply it to a whitelist of people who's games are clearly ELO manipulated. It is the equivalent as using a VPN so you get bot lobbys in Warzone. Its good for money as it draws in more people, basically manipulating peoples brains into thinking they are going to get the same dopamine win as the streamer that they just watched, when in reality its the complete opposite. Install Game > Play Game = Dopamine hit > Battle Pass > Skins > Season Rank resets > repeat step 2.

hey could you make a video about lucio tips? or even unranked to gm .i’m wondering how to control this character well,and i think he is the most hard character to play in support heroes cause he is really needs the game sense. i always dont know what to do when playing lucio.
@HawtLS
@HawtLS Жыл бұрын
I'm only mid masters, but here are some general tips for you: 1. The main appeal of Lucio is his speed boost. You should be shooting for 60-70% speed boost usage; if you're healbotting as lucio, you might as well play moira or bap. When your team has an advantage (a pick, enemy tank low, in general enemy team backing up, isolated target, etc.), speed amp towards them. Heal amp should primarily be used in emergencies, or to get a lot of ult charge on multiple weak teammates. 2. Since your supportive abilities are all auras, you should be CONSTANTLY shooting. Practicing aiming while jumping between walls is a must. Try to hit the practice bots while playing the floor is lava in training mode. Aim for the head even more than on other heroes, as it makes his damage scary when you can land 3 or 4 headshots. 3. Your boop is extremely low cooldown, helps line up your primary fire shots, and is an annoyance for characters that need to close gap. Prioritize reapers, reins, or anyone else trying to get in your backline. It's a very versatile ability that is spam friendly. Don't forget with your mobility you can also boop enemies out of position towards your team

@@honestysh He actually winds up basically responding to this later in the video - clarifying that he means 'simple' but not easy. Later somebody asks about doing Lifeweaver and he said the character sucks and so there's no point in teaching how to climb with him, since he doesn't do these videos for the challenge. I'm assuming the current Roadhog would be the other character falling into that category, which makes sense.

Honestly it would probably be “DAMAGE boost, DAMAGE boost, DAMAGE boost” 😂 Or use her pistol all the time because the bullets are huge. Non mercy players that use her pistol usually rack up kills - she just attracts the kind of player that wanna heal/util rather than get kills. Dafran on Mercy would get 5k POTG on his ults

Brig is so fun. I definitely dont bash away enough with her though so that part is helpful! Maybe I didn't watch enough but a good breakdown of best ways to use her ult would be helpful. I feel like she has one of the least understood ults in the game. Theres a lot of small things going on. Speed boost, armor generation for everyone in range, and a stunning shield bash. Theres a lot of good situations for popping that and the "just use it dont hold on to it" approach is true but personally I think using it shortly after engaging is best. Get a couple hits in, take a couole hits to get the enemy confident, then pop youre ult to turn the tavles when its too late for then to run.
@Martok2309
@Martok2309 Жыл бұрын
Allies get overhealth not armour. Good situations are when a fight stalls too long and you need something to let your team hold W and get a pick. As well as that, her stun can cancel some ults. If you have a quick reaction time you can pop it to cancel an enemy ult (reaper, cassidy, hanzo, lucio, moira, etc.) some being easier than others
