So hype to finish this, I'm only three hours in and I already feel like I've learned so much about my own Lucio gameplay. I find myself doing similar things like staying too long, overcommitting, out of position etc. Seeing Awkward acknowledge these things and explain how to remedy them/what I should have been doing instead is helpful, because as you always say, a lot of deaths come from your own mistakes rather than those of your teammates. I'm focusing on myself and I'm improving, thank you for aiding that journey with your content!

So wrong, and it shows a fundamental misunderstanding of the game. "Healers" are support characters. That means they are given a damage kit for a reason. Whats that reason? Stacking damage with a dps is going to require less heals, even if your team is bad. The alternative is healbotting for a bad team, and losing because your team is bad. You don't have to ignore team heals to do damage, and many team fights require more damage than heals.

why does the aiming have to be so hard with Lucio. I hate playing the character because i hardly hit any of my shots with him. I can aim with Kiriko pretty well often times having between a 30 and 45 percent accuracy. But Lucio man, he's tough to play

Well aiming with Lucio has two components. There’s spam damage which is just gathered from shooting at a choke and then there is kill securing. Awkward talks a lot about the concept of aiming with projectiles. Long story short, get closer to your enemy. Aiming on Lucio at close range is not nearly as difficult as a mid range fight. Even the best players aren’t doing ton of damage from far away on Lucio.

I wish he provided more healing per second, I would always play if he did more healing. 15 heals per second is not sufficient enough to save a teammate that is being shot at and now with the new dps passive it makes him even more useless unless he uses Amp-it up… which has a long cooldown anyway

Lucio already does a lot of passive healing, not being able to save someone quickly without amp is kinda the point, amp is your skill check, you just have to know when to use it.

As a Lucio player, I highly recommend anybody learning to play Lucio to change Crossfade from toggle to hold. Doing this can take a lot of focus off switching between healing and speed boosting, as many new players seem to get overwhelmed in this area or forget to switch back and forth at the necessary times. Switching crossfades to hold allows the player to utilize speed at the desired moments, similar to sprinting with Soldier. When that speed is no longer desired, the player can quickly release the key and return to healing. +Bonus Tip: Lucio has to drop the beat onto a surface for it to activate. Although it may be fun and flashy to do this from a wall ride or elevated surface, this allows time for the enemy team to punish you and potentially cancel the beat drop. When needing to beat drop, it’s highly recommended to get to a surface (or as close as possible) as quickly as possible beforehand. If possible, try to beat drop onto any nearby elevated surfaces, as when dropping the beat, this will be the quickest way to do so. This is all situation-based, but hopefully, understanding these things will help you make the best decisions in those situations or at least let you reflect on what you could’ve done better.

This can be helpful for audio queues that will help to notify you of changes in who has the upper hand in the fight, as awkward does a great job teaching the importance of adjusting your aggression during moments of higher or lower fight-win odds.

Been watching for a while now. I have watched most of your unranked to GM videos and the biggest thing I have learned is unlike any other shooter game you cannot isolate and hard focus on one target unless they are killable. That is something I had to learn coming from COD and other games. It’s ok to just do poke damage and not hard chase a kill. Retraining my brain to do this took some time but made all the difference in my game play! Thank you for your videos and sharing your gift of teaching with us!

to answer ur question about people finding you problematic when you haven’t said anything blatantly bigoted is bc bigotry isn’t always blatant. the intent isn’t always there. and you feeding into a certain belief about queer people being predators for example in this video does not help your case. thinking that “exposing children to sexuality” is inherently sexual is part of the problem here, because children are exposed to sexuality every single day. their teacher gets married, their favorite disney princess kisses the prince in their favorite movie, their parents hold hands and express that they love each other, etc. there are ways to expose children to sexuality that is wholesome and age appropriate. so i get what your intent is and what you’re trying to say as someone that was preyed on as a child, i understand the need to protect children, but those same talking points are used to vilify queer people and you need to think about these things and choose your words more wisely before feeding into bigotry by accident.

@TSGC16 sniping is very precise. Spamming your crossfade constantly changes your speed... and your teams. Now imagine being Widow, Ashe, Ana, or Hanzo, and you can't hit a single shot because your speed is all over the place, making it hard to aim. I would only shift spam in 1v1s because it makes you an unpredictable target.
