Amen. I got some nice exotic fretboards from a supplier, who's actually a big name supplier, that apparently had something growing, or hybernating inside. I saw no holes on the outside when I got them. Those FB's sat for a few years, and then I saw some holes in them and realized it was some bug(s) eating through those blanks. These blanks were inside my house, and no other woods inside have ever had this problem. I go through my stash every so often looking for anything funky, which may be overkill for keeping wood inside a clean home, but better safe than sorry I guess. Two somewhat expensive exotic blanks now ruined. Luckily it doesn't seem they migrated to any other pieces of my lumber stash. I could be wrong, but I now think they weren't properly kiln dried. All my stuff from Kimball looks perfect, now just gotta find the time to use them haha.

Sorry to hear that. However, the wood still may have been properly kiln dried. Powderpost beetles are a real problem in the industry and they can infect wood that has already been kiln dried properly. It is very possible that they lied dormant for a year or two inside the wood and then bored their way out. We are forever checking our inventory for the Powderpost beetles.
