I love watching a good conductor and orchestra. I got a kick out of the 2 very different styles of the Bassoonists and then the violinist (first chair) who was really having fun. Listening and watching someone who really enjoys what they're playing is even better than just listening. My favorite conductor is the one doing Offenbach -Orpheus in the underworld overture. He sings and dances the music and is just having a grand old time. The players better be in good physical condition too because it gets rather frantic towards the end.

Totally agree. I love knowing that these musicians are having fun as well as being supremely talented. I always love watching an orchestra play like this

I stopped at this video because I recognized the two bassoonists from other videos. I'm 42 seconds in now and thinking this guy is a pretty good director too. The difference in how the two perform is pretty striking too. I never could do the bouncing and dancing in my chair while playing. I was much more like the lady with the lace and hair over her shoulders (other than being male and not into lace... LOL). Wow! That first violinist really likes to dance in her chair. it's clear to me that none of the string players are ever going to have heart troubles. I played violin for awhile and I don't think I could move my right hand that fast even if I practiced for a million years. I'm going to cite this video to a friend who likes classical music.
