Edward Burlingame Hill (Concertino No 2 for Piano and Orchestra)

A work of impressionist color and Gershwinesque flair, Hill's Concertino No. 2 is a one-movement work for piano and orchestra composed between 1938 and 1939. The work was never performed in its full orchestral version until this recording was made in 2014. However, the composer's student Walter Piston assisted Jesús Mariá Sanromá in performing a two-piano version at a concert honoring Hill on his retirement from Harvard in 1940.
