I don't know why queen Elizabeth mother never give her credit because thanks to her she became queen for a short time and after her eldest daughter. He choose love over king . He could end his relationship with his love and do what Charles did just pick a innocent girl marries her make children and after 18 year or 21 divorce and get back with Wallis so his kids would be air to the thrown .instead that that he give the throne to his brother so Elizabeth mother and father became king and queen and after her father died she became queen an d got married started a family . Walis is not like Meghan talk to much she just sit easy there let her husband speak she was beautiful dressed well and was loyal to the royal family. Sad how people treat people just because she just was a divorce and a actress Kate had 3 boyfriends dump everyone to become a prinses Meghan a divorce and a actress and they are getting different treatments. I think Meghan different because she moved but how a about Diana inocent teen who give Charles her love she was only for Charles while he was fooling around with his ex fling Camilla and the queen knew so she ordered divorce. Diana 2 small son died young left 2 teens alone and the boys had to see there father married his mistress the same woman who Diana always complain about. The queen welcome her in her family married Charles Diana you could've always seen sadness in her eyes and she still had hope for Charles. @Peter Peter I'm not sure that his actual actions could be construed as treason though I have no doubt that had he remained king he would have ended up arrested and eventually executed for treason or else been declared incompetent and appointed a regent who would govern in his place. He admired Hitler too much. But I don't think he quite crossed the line into treason. His brother knew how he felt about Hitler and so he ordered him to the Bahamas. Here in this interview he speaks of his position in the Bahamas stoically but in reality he considered being governor of the Bahamas as a humiliation. He viewed it as Trump would have viewed being appointed assistant to the ambassador to Mexico. Basically such a position amounted to being banished. It is well known that Hitler wanted to re install him as king after he won the war but of course he never won the war. It is not known if they had an actual deal in place for this to happen though it would not shock me if he had. He never spoke of such.

@@deanaupchurch1593 He was a known Nazi sympathiser, but recently it has been revealed that he and Wallis were in constant contact with Nazi officials, including General von Ribbentrop, even after the commencement of the Battle of Britain. Wallis kept a signed picture of Ribbentrop on her dresser. Even before his abdication, it was known that he was pro-Nazi. His own father put him and Wallis under surveillance. In 1937, he did a tour of Germany and visited a concentration camp, so he can’t be excused for not seeing the Nazis for the monsters they were. He was a famously stupid man who abdicated, then regretted his choice and conspired with the Nazis to win the war so they would reinstate him as a puppet king. The reason there isn’t an entire chapter devoted to this in every WWII history book is that, if it had been revealed at the time that he was committing treason, the punishment was execution and that would have put the monarchy in jeopardy, to have a brother/uncle of the monarch executed for treason.

Edward and Wallis were Hitler's guests during their visit to Germany in 1937. I believe, as do many others, that it was an act of Divine intervention that this terrible man had such a short reign. Leon Trotsky a lot of people don’t know how weird he really was. He was gravely abused by his father which left him emotionally stunted that’s why he was so weird and sensitive. He really did like sexual and emotional abuse. Wallace was a sadistic dominatrix and treated him really poorly as well as openly cheat on him and he just ate it up. He sympathized with the nazi’s and conspired to harm and overthrow his family just to grant Wallace and him the HRH title. In the end they were both spoiled brats who deserve no sympathy.

Everyone, you need to crack open a book or 3. Wallis was just part of David/Edward 's problem. He was bloody weak in every way. He is like Charles in some ways, but can you honestly imagine the current Prince of Wales running off to Hitler, telling him you will cause Great Britain to allow the Germans to take ALL of the land they want, ostensibly "for peace"?? That fool really thought appeasement would end World War II. I thought this was all a nasty rumor, but twenty years of research convinced me. Edward VIII would have caused nightmarish actions and a very different world. So in one sense, I'm bloody grateful for Wallis. Her presence kept a fool off the throne and eventually gave us Her Majesty, Elizabeth II.
@griffinmathers9297 жыл бұрын
Not a Nazi, but he did attempt to "make deals" with Hitler. David was a fool who cares about no one but himself and was beyond lucky to not have been thrown in prison to rot. Weak and pathetic, hated everyone but Wallis, who did not really love him, and absolutely a traitor.

Oh, isn't it lovely how she talks of how happy they are, when in reality they were barely on speaking terms at this point and he died just 3 years later, not in the arms of his "loving" wife but in the arms of his nurse. Wallis, according to his nurse, had not been to his rooms to see him for two weeks prior to his death. Now THAT is sad. She was a classic narcissist and he was a co-dependent enabler. They were both Nazi sympathizers who allegedly plotted to steal back the British throne after Germany defeated Great Britain. Such a lovely documentary. You can see how attached he was still to the royal family, still loyal to the royal family, but he sometimes got things wrong while in exile. I heard in another documentary that he insisted on getting up out of his sick/deathbed to stand at the end of his bed to salute to his Queen, his niece Queen Elizabeth II, when she came to visit him as she knew he was ill. He stood to attention, saluted and paid the correct due respect to her as she entered the room. She insisted he should not have done this as it drained him. He passed away within days of her visit.

There are those who are happy, and those who just stay married because they can't make it by themselves. I knew a couple like that. They couldn't live with each other, but, they couldn't live without each other, so they stayed married, and he took care of her when she got sick and she died eventually.
