Wendy Whelan and Edward Watson are two leading lights of the ballet world. Whelan is admired for her elegant movement and intelligent approach, while Watson has won acclaim for his breathtaking physicality and the intensity he brings to dramatic roles. Each has inspired the work of a host of contemporary choreographers, and dance together for the first time in this unique collaboration.
The programme features three duets: First and Wait by Javier De Frutos, The Song We Share by Danièle Desnoyers and The Ballad of Mack and Ginny by Arthur Pita. Puncuating the programme are two solos: Arlene Phillips choreographs Dance Me to the End of Love on Watson and Annie-B Parson Short Ride Out on Whelan. Jean-Marc Puissant creates the designs.
