Ed, you're establishing an amazing channel. In my opinion, your channel(and I follow a quite a few) is by far ahead of the rest. I really hope you gain traction, and companies start appreciating your work...

Agree with you 100% on the awning. I wish my trailer had an awning I could pitch in 5 minutes or less for the short stops along the way (for snacks or refreshments). I still love the long term setup benefits of current tent though so I carry a gazebo for those short stops. Great video. Stop making us wait too long for them, we are obviously addicted.

Ed, great setup! I have almost the identical setup, but with an Echo 6 and an iKamper 4x 2.0. My Echo 6 came with the same front box and rear slide. In the box I have a slide with a Weber BBQ on one side and gas bottle and Smarttek HWS on the other. Something you may find helpful in the rain as the iKamper roof will send the water down on to the kitchen - I've had a PVC panel fabricated that slides in to the top edge of the camper and the back of the 270 degree awning. Only takes 15 seconds to slide it in when needed and completely seals off that gap, can still use the kitchen in a downpour. Happy to share pics of the other mods I've done to mine if you're interested.
@EdwardBath2 жыл бұрын
Hey Mick! Thank you so much, I would be very interested in having a look at your setup and specifically that’s PVC panel, I’ve only had it leak into the kitchen in very heavy rain but would be great to get some ideas from you. My email is edwardbath@gmail.com . Thanks Mick!

I also once upon a time was guilty of having just about every camping gadget going which are now gathering dust in a storage unit in GP....only to eventually realize that less is way more!!. Nice to have but really not necessary for serious long-term off-roaders...wife and I lived a whole year on the road with 3 changes of clothes each and a 4x4... Found our happy place in a WC coastal town by accident. Still enjoy your content and eyeballing new gizmos though. Maybe you could consider a series on the absolute basic essentials bordering between survival and absolute comfort ...it is very possible to have fulfilling experiences without all the "stuff"

Hi Ed . Great video. Juts one thing regarding the stabilizing jacks that you fitted. From my own experience on a different brand of trailer. Yes you can lift it, but just be careful especially when your trailer is full capacity. There is a sheering pin in the center of the unit that might brake off. I had to open that mechanism to replace that pin on my trailer.

Fantastic video, fantastic channel. I really look forward to the video to come on your upgraded power/battery system. Perhaps you could dispel a few of the myths/misnomers around dual battery systems in campers - particularly lithium based - while you're at it?

Great video Ed and thx for the ideas. Today I removed the L shaped kitchen (which I never used as a kitchen, ever) from my Conqueror Compact 2 trailer. I will have a new open drawer like yours professionally made by an electrical switchboard manufacturer by Thursday, then off for powder coating. The space and access improvement is huge for me!!! Shocks are done, so I’ll copy your Monroe choice. Thx again👍👍

Awesome vid! As a completely inexperienced american, should I one day make it to Africa, this is how I would want to go about getting out there, rather than expensive lodges and such. Are there businesses/guides that take tourists on grand adventures like yours? I love all the camping details, your Echo totally rocks!

Ed, Are your wheels covered by the wheel arch or do they stick out the side a bit? I’ve noticed a few echo trailers with the same rims, however from what I can see the wheels do stick out on those. Do all the Aline daggers have the same offset?

Another great video Ed, well done. Love the gear reviews, absolutely brilliant! If I may ask, now that you've moved the jerry Cans etc to the front, what is your towball weight when you are fully loaded? Taking into account the mass of a caravan or trailer measured at the tow hitch, can not exceed 100 kg in SA.
@EdwardBath2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Paul! The tow ball weight fully loaded is 87kgs 🙌
