In 2016 a double murder shocked the sleepy village of Spalding, England. Two star crossed 14-year-old young lovers (Edwards and Markham), conspired to murder Edwards mother and sister. This case of folie a deux is the youngest recorded incident of Matricide in UK criminal history.
The police confessions are startling for the clinical justification made for the crimes. And the police took the unprecedented decision of making the recordings public because of the danger they believed the teenagers represented to society

When she gave her reason as to why she felt happy about the deaths : "um yes because my mum doesn't have to deal 30:43 with me um being like you know suicidal and she doesn't 30:50 have to wake up worrying every morning see if i'm still alive 30:56 um and my sister doesn't have to go through the heartbreak and just be emotions and stuff" I don`t buy her answer at all. I belive she saw her mother and sister as obstacles that had to be removed. I`ve been struggling with mental illness since the age of 18, and I`m 34 now. When I`m in a dark period, (form me) my anger and sadness it`s never external only internal. We all deal with thoughts and feellings differently, and we have different backgrouds. Try not to feel ashamed when you`re asking for help. I`m still finding it hard to do that, but it get`s a bit easier once you`ve started. Much love to all from Sweden 🙂❣

one of Beyond's best docu series so far. tastefully done and with competent experts who provide interesting insights into the case. the original recordings of the killers also provide much more authenticity than scripted retellings. so it's pretty sad that one of their best shows is getting the least amount of attention on this KZbin channel. makes you think if most people are only watching true crime shows to satisfy their voyeuristic and sensationalist urges. so they prefer documentaries which are more flashy and driven by a dramatized narrative. out of respect for the victims i'd rather prefer those documentaries which are treating the subject matter more seriously. greetings from germany :)

Totally agree with prof Wilson about why they did it, she wanted it done, he wanted her , they both say so separately, she needs help and obviously struggling mentally! also Not sure how professor Brooke’s thinks different, and its not uncommon for women to use men to do things like this So he taking utter bollocks in my opinion

@@owenwadders3689 these people are professors of criminal psychology/psychology. All I'm saying is that they're probably in a better position to understand these individuals than you or I. For the record, I don't necessarily disagree with you. I think he's looking at the case from a slightly different direction to Wilson. The way I considered his opinion was that Lucas was the one who persistently knocked on the window to get Kim to let him in. Had he not done that, would she still have wanted it to happen? Also, Lucas effectively has all the power. If he'd refused to do it himself, then it's doubtful Kim would have committed the murders. He's also correct in saying that it's not usually that common for the female, particularly one so young, to be the dominant partner. That said, on the balance of things I personally agree that Kim is the driving force. She almost knew that he would do what she asked, or that he'd volunteer to kill the sister. She had the opportunity to end it by telling him she'd changed her mind. However, as Brookes says, who's to say that Lucas wouldn't have killed Katie even if Kim said she didn't want her sister dead? I think he's right about us not knowing the full story about the motivation behind the murders, or the actual conversations they had in planning it. Perhaps you could argue that neither of them were 100% right. That's what I enjoy about these documentaries, these psychologists don't always agree.

It's not strange they didn't leave the crime scene, where were they going to go? They were kids with no money, no driver's license, etc. Edit the one doctor is showing his bias, unwilling to allow for the girl to be equally culpable, yet she not only didn't stop him, she told him to go ahead. He's just biased in favour of the female simply for being female...

I enjoy seeing the different reasonings people come up with, as to why killers do what they do. There is a multitude of reasons. I believe many factors have to fall in place. Brain imbalance as well as maltreatment would both be present in some forms. Perception is 9/10ths the law in a person's mind. When Drs have differing opinions, that's when it is most interesting. It seems punishment isn't a deterant so much anymore. Maybe bcuz consequences aren't in their lives to begin with??🤔🤨🤧 #ivelostlovestomurder
