Just found your presentation, as I was looking up Drumgrew, to see if I could add to my hazy childhood memories of visiting my aunt Bessie Beveridge and her brother Bobby. I notice the name Haddow mentioned. My aunt Jessie Beveridge married Dan Haddow, who became a colliery manager. I remember visiting them at Stonehouse. Dan was one of the early car owners and I remember being driven down to Drumgrew in luxury, at the time. I enjoyed the pics of my cousins Jim and Wullie and also my Grandpa Beveridge, who died the year I was born. Many thanks for taking the time to create this fine body of work.

Hi Edward, what a great video and historical record of the Kirkintilloch area and it's mining history. My family are from Kirkintilloch and worked in the local pits. I now live in Auckland, New Zealand but look forward to coming back home for a holiday post Covid!

Excellent piece of documentation Edward,I myself am from Twechar my father John Cowie worked at the brickwork for a few years and manys the time my brother and I spent sitting next to the stove in the bothy on top of the kilns whilst waiting for him to finish his shift. I have known Lillian McNeil for many years and indeed her sister Helen who was our next door neighbour when we lived in Park Avenue. Brilliant work
