Adjustable suspension, sturdy shifter and brake pedal, overhead cam, I've had it 75mph, but it does 55 easy. It was $300 more than the 5sp models, but the no vibration interested me most. Then watched videos on doing each thing, e.g. checking battery, changing oil, how to flash the ECU, checking tire pressure and changing inner tube, and kept going from there with stuff like checking the brakes, changing the chain, checking suspension, valve timing, spark plugs, coolant, etc. Adding on new parts, taking it apart to repaint it, there are so many videos for everything you need now. Look at the inside of the levers purch and see if you see something plugging into it, if you unplug it, it should just be 2 prongs.. (kind of like the plugs on clutch safetys) Anyways, youll just unplug that wire, cut and splice. Some folks install a fuse right there in that splice, most dont, I never have. I dont know if it will be this simple on this bike but I have a good feeling it will be. This will take you 3 minutes of time and no tools except a razer and some electric tape or wire nut! as a chinese bike connoisseur, these bikes are pretty good for the price BUT there is a lot of power to unfold (well i say alot, but realistically this makes like maybe 17hp to the wheel as it comes and you can make it reach 25hp maybe more if you are lucky, so big upgrade but not a big number) In my opinion if you want to big bore it, start from that change the oil immediatel, they tend to be shipped with what feels like cooking oil, i have found that Motul 15w40 works best for these aircooled engines then go to the usual air filter/ carb (any pwk 32-38 should work fine with a 300cc bore kit) and exhaust change the wiring to the sparkplag, like, the whole assembly, the wires they use have a lot of losses and this is probably the most bang for your buck change in these bikes (mine used to strugle to reach above 8k rpms in 5th gear and after the wiring changes it reached a whopping 10k rpms without any issues) i suggest you use parts from similar japanese bikes (xr250 for example) since this would be the most hustle free option and a quality upgrade BRAKE IN THE ENGINE, for some reason, they really change in character once they pass like 600miles change the front sprocket, go 1 size up, it will make the 1st gear usable in technical offroad and since you might free up some ponnies and torque you wont see any losses in the rest of the gears port the heads, advance timing, play around with it and see what sticks for your use, they really are like legos for adults and lastly although maybe it should be the first one on the list, do a bit of research for your model, yes 99% of these engines are the same, but if you are willing to spend some money on it maybe your best option is to straight up engine swap it to another chinese liquid cooled 250 or bigger engine, from what i saw like a year ago there are some solid options up to 350cc engines that fit most of those frames (and some twin cylinder options if you want to go freaky, i was considering making a "chinese aprilia sxv clone" with a lifan v twin engine but it required a lot of chopping )

I have a Hawk 250, same engine which is really a 229 not a 250. As long as you like turning a wrench it's been pretty reliable. However I can attest the front wheel was a failure point and pancaked on me at a very low speed dig. But I did upgrade the sprockets, chain, carb, filter, exhaust manifold back, and some other odds and ends.

I bought a very similar bike last year, XPRO Templar 250. I've had no real issues with it. I adjusted the carb a little for more power and response. I need to figure out how to adjust the rear pre-load. That thing with holding in the front brake to start it is annoying as hell. Did you figure out a way to disable it? If so, please tell!!

try upgrading it into something lighter and powerful, bike is pretty cool and probably has a lot of potential just needs fine tuning, the carb probably has something to do with emissions so try fixing that, loved the vid hope this bike stays longer in this channel.

@@EdwinOlding either way not a bad bike for the money it seems 🤷♂️ especially for us folks that can't afford a ktm or something but still want a new bike and not a used one that has been through who knows what lol, plus out of the cheaper bikes ive found this one looks to have the best made frame where it actually protects the motor somewhat and also seems to just be better looking than others in general
@seashackf12 ай бұрын
@@PossumSwanger4 you have to be careful though, sometimes ‘cheap’ stuff is actually more expensive in the long run. If this thing constantly breaks parts or needs things things upgraded like the wheels it may not actually be cheaper than buying a used bike and fixing it. Also, this bike isn’t comparable to a KTM, or even a Honda CRF250. As people are saying it’s really a cheap 230 clone. Check out used prices of those. Might actually make more sense in the long run since they run forever.

i have the Xpro Titan DLX 250 and its a great bike for the price. had to upgrade some things, like sprockets, valve adjustment, Nibbi carb, exhuast, and the shifter broke off after a week of riding but easily found a replacement online (parts are surprisingly easier to find than i expected) I can get my bike up to 75/80 MPH on the street and I use it for commuting and daily rider. Was sort of a pain in the bum to get street legal but my local DMV is unnecessarily strict. I've put around 1800 miles on it and they were pretty rough, riding miles, still going fine.

If it's anything like the cheap lefan I once had you can up performance and milage with an upgrade carb needle swap,rear sprocket upgrade and dual spark plug, my POS got 90mpg, the only drawback was it drifted if a dump truck came in the opposite direction and on the highway it was worse as trucks went around but regular road and dirt it was fun.

Look for the wires coming from the switch on the front brake. Might have multiple wires because your bike has brake lights. Find the right ones and just connect them to bypass.

You can put a paperclip in the ecu slot for the front brake. (or whereever that sensor goes to aside from the brake lights of course.) Did that on a bike that had a bad kickstand sensor and would die as soon as you'd put it in gear.

I've been infected with the "cheap" bug many times over the last 3 decades. You certainly get bang for your buck initially, but it doesn't take long until you're saying "I'll just upgrade this" and "I'll just upgrade that" and before you know it you've spent 4 times the money on the bike and you could have just gotten a second hand monster for the same price. Realistically, this is a great bike for beginners who don't know if they'll stick with the sport or not, and who are new to looking after dirt bikes. A low up front means less lost if you quit the sport or trash the bike. Otherwise if you've got money to burn, and some sick and twisted need to ride something you wouldn't tell your mates about then grab one of these by all means.

We all went down a muddy dirt bike trail. I was on my Benelli TRK. When his son's brake lever broke, he took his son back to the truck, I parked my bike, my friend and I rode double on the Templar back in five miles and I rode his son's bike out without brakes. If you are willing to deal with some minor electrical issues, they are great bikes.
