I sold my 2019 Husky 250i after 38 hours of riding and went back to my 2015 yz250 and havent ever considered buying one of those orang/white/red bikes again. The husky lacked quality in a lot of areas such as a bolt that was nearly stripped from the factory, the bike was difficult to work on and didnt even come standard with a metal case cover or even a plastic disc guard. the bikes oil tank let dirt inside after short ammounts of riding. If yamaha builds a bike I will buy it. I have been back to ktm dealers in the last years with hopes of the perfect bike emerging but the design of the throttle body rubber boots and locations of sensors etc. makes me avoid them, its a real shame because the chassis of the husky was so good and ridabiltity was perfect, but it just didnt run right and I was sure after long enough that bike would leave me stranded somewhere, Its the first bike in my life I have ever sold from being totally disapointed and unhappy with a prooduct, the loss of money I still feel to this day lmao

I already sold my ktm 300 to buy a yz250x last summer and it was a great decision, I have a lot more fun on the yz. It feels more powerful top end although a little less low end grunt. I honestly think more people should be considering the yz250x when they are looking at an enduro/trail bike because they are significantly cheaper, lighter weight, lots of aftermarket options that are relatively inexpensive. With a counter sprocket and the proper jetting it becomes a sweet trail bike even for the rough stuff. I am really tempted to get the gytr flywheel to see if it makes it even better. And for those worried about electric start, there are kits available as well as more being developed currently. I personally dont think it is NECESSARY because the yz starts so easy. I am going to make some predictions here. Yamaha could have really clamped down on any and all attempts by individuals to bootleg a Fantic over here, but they didn't. Add to that the hiring of both Cody Webb and Kailub Russell, I think what Yamaha is up to here is the following: 1) For 2026 (27) the WR 250F/450F are going to go away, and their lighting kits are going to go into the GYTR catalogue for the YZ (???) FX & X bikes. 2) That Fantic XE300 is going to show up as a YZ300X in 2026, which will be used as an enduro (hard or otherwise) bike. But I think it will also be used to sort out the TBI for future use on the MX and X two strokes, gradually upgrading the YZ125/250 (X) w/counter balancer for the 250/300, six-speed box for the 250X, electric start for all of them, & TBI for all of them. 3) Also, for 2026 in the GYTR catalogue, a 300 head, jug, and piston for the YZ250 (X) ... homologated for MX??? 4) Finally, in 2026 a 350, six-speed, four stroke engine that can be cross platformed into a YZ350FX and a WR350R (dual sport w/appropriate CARB mods & to beef up the service intervals). Maybe down the line cross platformed into a YZ350F (5-speed box) and a 350 Tenere. It will all start with YZ300X and YZ350FX in 2026.

Yamaha has done zero R&D for 2 decades on their 2-stroke lineup. Now because their rival has money issues they are going to finically invest into of all things a 2-stroke? I have my doubts. I would love to see a 300 or 350 2stroke and all the bells and whistles for a 8k price tag. Don't hold your breath though. Everyone has been screaming at the Japanese about this for years. And all we get is a shinny new 450.

You’re gonna be waiting at least another 2+ years until something would be even close to available to the public (i think) for the new yamaha or until the fantic 300’s are legal to sell in America. In the meantime buy what ever flavour of euro bike suits your needs and enjoy. Personally i prefer beta but Thats because i own one haha. Cant really go wrong with any euro 300 nowadays. The crf250f and wr250x are not even close to the level the 300 euro bikes are. But it all depends where and how you want to ride

They bit off more than they could chew buying all the other companies, and the camshaft + China issue was the nail in the coffin. I hate it for the people who work for KTM because they love the products and services they provide, but once leadership makes profits more important and wisdom goes out the window this is what happens. If they lose the community, they'll be putting up the "Under new management sign." It would be hilarious if Husaberg bought them and a 500 2-stoke emerged from the ashes. I want to see a diesel 2-stroke. That would be bad.

Yamaha have shot themself in the foot , closing so many dealers , the latest Yamaha off road range looks great , but they are impossible to find All of Devon and Cornwalls Yamaha dealers have gone , I can’t even find a new wr450 to look at , in that same area I can buy a ktm or beta from at least 3 different dealers
@AaronsEnduroАй бұрын
Idk man, its just as easy to buy any brand bike here. Sounds like more of a locational issue than supply issue
@ianparkes2538Ай бұрын
@ I think your right maybe it’s a uk thing. They want dealers to expand with just the Yamaha range bikes boats outboards etc , and dealers are too small for that , even the new big dealer doesn’t keep the off-road bikes in stock , they are all available to order but not to go and see . A year ago there was 3 dealers I could have found bikes in stock

The Japanese were right on the Mark like KTM in the 90s and then they lost it cable clutches inferior products. They’re not on the same wavelength as KTM. Let’s pray that KTM stays in business for all of us that love woods bikes.
@TechBug-t5dАй бұрын
I wouldn't want KTM to go away. Even if they go under I don't believe they would go away. Most likely they would just be bought out by a different company...which could be a good or bad thing depending on who buys them. It would be kinda funny if one of the big 4 buys them out for their tech/patents to help them build their own enduro bikes...or so they can simply rebadge them as Yamaha's, Kawasaki's, Suzuki's, etc..lol. Regardless, I would expect Yamaha to get more involved in the enduro scene esp with people like Cody Webb joining the team. Enduro seems to be a growing market and is more attainable to most people than MX. Their current offerings of re-tweaked MX bikes seem like half-hearted efforts. It seems Yamaha is being cautious and is currently dipping their toes in the enduro market to see if it's worthwhile. Yamaha could develop a modern full enduro-line (named the "WR" series) with 65/85/125/200/250/300 and maybe even a 500cc offering for desert racers. Do like what Beta does and have them come stock with lights/horn/speedometer and pre-wiring for turn signals to make it easier for people to register them for road use. I believe this will help them sell more bikes cause it opens up more opportunities for people to use their bikes. I highly doubt Yamaha would do all this...but I would expect them to at least come out with a serious 250/300cc enduro bike sometime in the future. It would be cool if the rest of the big 4 would do the same, heck Can-Am could enter the enduro market again. More brands entering the market should be good for the consumer!

The cost of a new KTM will bring with it the cost of interest on the loans, and knowing they shut down their factory and moved production to China. Just wait one year and buy a choned 2025 model next year for about half the price.

People don't realize KTM just did a massive power-play. All their bikes have infiltrated dealerships. We got Yamaha dealers with KTM stock now. Now people can pick up a KTM, develop a name through all the people who scored themselves a deal on a supposedly dying KTM which is worth billions. Then bam they'll dominate the market because everyone will be telling their friends "yeah I got it for cheap cause they were going bankrupt but they actually make a good bike".
