Hey Edwin just wanted to share something my dad pointed out while watching this video…. At 15:30 you can see that your amigo isn’t bringing the gun up to his line of sight but rather almost leaning down therefore causing for him to shoot low every time. Mr. Sarkissian, the pistol accuracy is just fine. It's hard for the shooter - ANY shooter - to hold well and hit at any 'long' distance. Your grandfather's Mauser is a "C96". The round in your hands is a 'bottle neck' design, which would be either a 7.63x25mm Mauser or possibly a 7.62x21mm Parabellum. Both rounds are fairly fast and small in diameter (which enhances penetration). But the pistol is known for rough, heavy trigger pulls and odd sights. Super .38: I have been an advocate of the Super since the 1970s at least. The cartridge is what 9x19mm NATO pretends to be. It is a good penetrator, but I've never tested it on 'gas bottle steel'. Yes, it is popular in Mexico and most of Central and South America. Yes, the Super is a better penetrator than .45 ACP because it is higher in velocity and smaller in diameter. An ice pick penetrates better than a sledge hammer. Perhaps you've seen it reviewing the videos. Many of the shots that missed could be seen impacting the ground between the shooter and the tanks. Not because the rounds could not go far enough, but because either the sights are set for closer distances (not shocking) or the shooter had a flinch and 'bucked' the pistol slightly muzzle down.
@ShawnF6FHellcat Жыл бұрын
I was fully expect the last two revolvers to penetrate without question... I guess those tanks are tougher than I thought.
@joshuagibson2520 Жыл бұрын
For sure. Also, those are big heavy rounds that don't fly very fast. That makes them harder to penetrate into the tank. I've never seen anyone say, but I'd love to know the actual wall thickness on those tanks. Another factor is when full they have high pressure pushing outward which will make them hard to penetrate.
@Jake_Hamlin Жыл бұрын
20mm didn’t penetrate the bottom of the tank so can’t expect a pistol to do much
@Bigshooterist Жыл бұрын

Always love your videos! One thing though, Oxygen is not flammable on its own. So the flare would have done nothing if you punctured the tank. I'd suggest a hydrogen tank with an oxygen tank with a grenade taped between them. Just a thought.

Hey you should weld some fins to an oxygen tank, build a mount that would point the tank straight up (nozzle end down) and blast the nozzle with a 50 cal to create a oxygen tank rocket. I wonder how high it would go?

And I wonder who or what it might land or or how far it might go. If shot with a 50.bmg probably not far lmao

Just listening you two talk makes the video really entertaining. On this video expectations weren't met but it was fun watching as always. I was waiting for you to bring out your 50 caliber power to finish the job at the end. Yes, hand guns didn't do anything from such distance which was something we learned. Edwin oxygen by itself is not flammable. it Just causes other things to burn very well. so putting a flare on the oxygen tank will not do anything. the reason the hole on the side of the oxygen tank ends up so big after being hit by the 50 call is because the thick steel burns like steel wool.
@jaycee1326 Жыл бұрын

You make shooting those .50 cal and 45-70s look way too easy to shoot! I've shot a DE .50 and bout broke my wrist. My buddy tried to shoot it with one hand out of the car window(we were on the country back roads in TN btw) and the gun did a backflip out of his hand when he shot it! It was epic!! We had to pull over and walk back and down off a small cliff to retrieve it. It's a very powerful gun. I know it's the most powerful handgun I've ever shot. I wouldn't want to own one well I'd own one but I wouldn't pay for one.
@stanleyromanowski9816 Жыл бұрын
150 yards is a long shot on steel even for the .500 mag and .45-70. All of those rounds, even the .45-70 were intended for soft targets, not steel penetration. You need ammo designed for anti-material such as 7.62 x 51 or .30-'06 armor piercing at the minimum for that range.
