Videos like this make me happy to be alive in a time where these niche crafts can be seen and appreciated by people. A hundred years ago someone like me who works in a completely different industry might have gone their whole life without seeing a restoration. There's also something in seeing an old forgotten tool be brought back for a chance at a second life. Thank you and please keep doing what you're doing.

I love watching videos like these because it's fascinating the results after all process. Besides, it's like a therapy: the environment is so quite, calm and the noises from machines are not loud. these may not be old knifes. the same electrolysis process can be done to a relatively unrusted knife and accelerate it to looking ancient. then title a video as restoring old knifes, profit.

I know this is from four months ago so you might not see, but here’s a few suggestions that might help you (though I’m sure you’ve likely learned since then): -to prevent the “scratched” look, you could wet send with P1200 and/or use a rubbing compound (the latter will really help out a mirror finish) -the handle is a bit chunky, but that’s no problem at all if it fits in *your* hands well. However I would mention that the front end should be less thick than the back, even with the ergonomic fit. This is just so that you can keep a solid hold on the knife and it won’t go flying, should you give something a good whack with it. Not so much for comfort, just for safety. -I think there may have been a slight warp in the handle? Or maybe the raw ebony that you laid the handle on was warped and the handle was straight. I honestly don’t know 😂 either way, doesn’t matter too much as long as the end result works, and it definitely does! Good job! Overall you did a really, really great job! I loved the stains and the handle came together REALLY nicely. I never would have thought of adding ebony dust to the glue to match the color! Definitely earned a sub from me 💜

Totally agree about the handle, as an amateur chef it was my first thought. By placing the center of gravity so low you are just asking to hurt yourself. The spine has to be nearly level with the handle, its extremely important for a kitchen knife

Legit interesting, but what I liked best was the understated humor. Slurping the jar offscreen made me chuckle, carefully spooning some coffee grounds out of the bottle just to end up dumping the whole thing in there made me guffaw.

@@Paradoxical124 Not sure what them liking anime has to do with anything but they're actually not wrong, RPM varies wildly from creator to creator and a smaller channel like this isn't likely pulling in a lot of money per thousand views, channels like this usually either resell the items they repair, do sponsorship deals, or have a patreon, the channels on the higher end of RPM are usually your viral channels or dude-bros of the community, staple channels like Pewdiepie, etc usually sit somewhere around the middle of the pay scale and make a majority of their money off massive sponsorships and personal merch sales. Edit: In this case it appears they take donation and use affiliate links another popular way for creators to earn a little extra, also this isn't an opinion it's fact it's fairly well known how this industry works by now, please take a second to research it.
