About Course: The great artists that we are going to study were constantly in search for ways of expressing their views of life and the world. We are going to cover over four centuries of the history of European painting. We will see how the concerns of human beings evolved, how the modern mindset emerged, how artists played different roles in society, acting as propagandists for those in power, or as scathing critics.
The goal of this course is to foster the dissemination of art and culture, and to encourage students to visit museums and enjoy art live. In order to prepare the course materials we have used a variety of images of art works.
About institution: Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) is an innovative public university committed to the improvement of society through teaching of the highest quality and cutting-edge research in line with stringent international guidelines. (www.edx.org/sc...)
