The topoplot function is the eeglab toolbox, which is a free toolbox that you can download.

Just download eeglab and add the path to it in matlab (addpath...). In case it doesn't work you can always write in eeglab digest. As you can see from the videos, Mike doesn't work with eeglab/fieldtrip, he makes computations in pure matlab.

I had the same problem, here's how to solve it: download EEGlab (sccn.ucsd.edu/eeglab/download.php), unzip it where you prefer (for instance I have a separate folder where I keep toolboxes like Brainstorm), then in MATLAB go to Home > Set Path > Add with Subfolders..., and select the EEGlab folder ("eeglab14_1_1b"). In this way, MATLAB will search for functions in those directories too, and topoplot will work.

Mr Mike X Cohen, my Ph.D. topic is on EEG inverse problem (i.e. source reconstruction problem). I have carefully seen the preview from your online courses on udemy and it seems that you don't touch this issue. Could you suggest me one of your courses that would be helpfull for my research. I am interested in regularization methods (LORETA, MNE etc) and the mathematical and physiological background of the source estimation procedure. Thank you

Indeed, I don't talk much about anatomical projections, and not at all about the math. I don't know off-hand if there are videos about this. You might consider the textbooks from Sekihara and Nagarajan. Those are great resources for M/EEG imaging, if you have some math background.

the topoplot function seems invalid. This function is not available on your github ANTS1_intro. Where can I find it?

It's in the eeglab toolbox, as I write in the video description. I've also added the topoplotIndie function to git, which doesn't rely on eeglab.

Hi, I cannot run the "load sampleEEGdata.mat" It is giving the following error --> "Error using load Unable to read file 'sampleEEGdata.mat'. No such file or directory." Can anyone help me solve this error? Thank you.

Hi Sam. That file can be downloaded using the link in the description of the video. Once you download the .mat file, you'll need to make sure either that the folder where the file is located is in MATLAB's path, or that the file is in MATLAB's current directory. Mike

My guess is that there is no valid data being plotted. The first input to topoplot should be a vector a N numbers, where N is the number of channels.
